Mullins today reported that the horse was fine so that’s good.
I think whatever he goes in he wins.

Really like him as well droffats. Just be interesting to see where he goes, especially with the amount of horse Willie has to place.

    Hi Gingertipster,
I believe they will be going straight to Cheltenham.
Felt they should have gone to King George without a run in Peterborough Chase and are now aiming to go straight to the festival.
Want Al Ferof to think it’s his first race of the season.
If they do that I think he’ll run a big race.
Hope they go for the Ryanair.

Talking about KV, what are everyone’s thoughts on his Festival target?
I know after the race Ruby mentioned the JLT, but with Shaneshill currently topping the ante-post market will Willie run them both? Different owners etc so no reason why he wouldn’t.
But after KV beat Thistlecrack over 3m over hurdles last season I thought he might go for the RSA?
Seems to be looking less and less likely?

Really disappointed about the weather forecast. Was really looking forward to a big performance from Planet of Sound for months now but it appears it will come up soft on the day, which won’t suit and just make his task even harder.

Saying that though, I don’t think it will stop him taking his chance as this has been his aim for the season.
Fingers crossed it will dry out as fast as Barney Clifford thinks it can.

One of my favourite horses. Totally saddened today. What a fantastic horse that has given me some great days. Had a great heart and gave his all always.
RIP Joe – Thanks for the memories. Here is hoping the Tizzard yard go from strength to strength in the coming years.

Carlisle is a stiff galloping track not a sharp one (http://www.drawbias.com/Jumps/Carlislej.html). It also takes some getting, since the last 1/2 mile is up a steep climb. That said, I don’t think it harms your case, so much as enhances the options for Little Josh to run over further.

    My mistake seldom.
That point aside though, it was a very impressive performance given the absence from injury that preceded it.
If he’s got any designs on winning the Gold Cup come March, he’s surely got to go close here. Am wondering about an ante-post bet for the Gold Cup now before this.

sorry was looking at little josh  . Still, Denman should win this, with barbers shop not far away.

No worries andrew, just got a little confused with that that’s all.
Not sure about Barbers Shop at all. Will take a massive performance for Denman to do it again, but, like you say, he has proved he is more than capable.

Also, if PNs runs Neptune Collonges, he has to be respected and it would not surprise me to see him win, and what a performance that will be should it happen.

Gotta be Denman, been there and done it.
Was looking at Wierd Al given the recent form boost, but I find it odd that not a lot of people are worried about the fact he’s only raced 3miles+ twice and been beaten by a combined total of 63 lengths!

Weird Al has actually races 3 miles+ just the once, his impressive win against Knockara Beau at Wetherby, but is undefeated over fences!
How has he been beaten a combined total of 63 lengths?
I may be missing something, could you explain? Thanks.

Hard to look past him for this in my opinion should Denman find a repeat of last season’s heroics hard to come by. It’s clear his best distance is 3m+.
His comeback run against Little Josh was a brilliant run, considering the sharp track and unsuitable trip, plus he should come on for the run as well.

Looking forward to how Hey Big Spender does at a decent price, but Weird Al for me.

Remember doing this last year..trying to find a winner that was getting lumps of weight from Denman. We all know what happened then..

Three i’m interested in this, should they run, are Weird Al, Neptune Collonges and Hey Big Spender.

Have always liked HBS and thought he had a really nice seasonal debut yesterday. I think he’ll really come on from that, is an impressive jumper, and with a decent paced race I think he could really come on leaps and bounds this season. Not sure if he’ll take up his entry or not though.

Saying that I think this could be Weird Al’s and would quite like to see him take it.

Weird Al won’t be going for this. He’ll go straight for the Hennessy.

Have to agree about his impressive run at Carlisle, which came at a unsuitable trip as well. Looking forward to his next run, but it won’t be in the Paddy Power.

I think i’ll actually side with Long Run in this. If anything is open to improvement it is him. Ideal distance. Will be an interesting contest.

It takes an exceptional horse to win the bumper the way he did – especially as a 4yo. Are they likely to stick to 2m4 or will they drop him back in trip now?

Glad to say I backed him at 40s in the bumper and have been looking forward to his hurdling debut ever since.

The plan is get three Nov Hdl races in before Christmas and go from there.

I think anything is possible with him and it’s hard to say on the distance side of things at the moment.
CT has said he wouldn’t worry about dropping him back to 2m as he has the pace for it. Yet his dam ran in the Grand National.
