R I P Joe lively you were a fab fighter of a horse
xxJanuary 1, 2011 at 15:25 #334529Awful start to the year. Perhaps he went at the course he loved and was jumping beautifully till he was injured. And his stable companion took away some of the pain the stable must have been feeling. A small crumb of consolation. RIP Joe.
January 1, 2011 at 17:15 #334534One of my favourite horses. Totally saddened today. What a fantastic horse that has given me some great days. Had a great heart and gave his all always.
RIP Joe – Thanks for the memories. Here is hoping the Tizzard yard go from strength to strength in the coming years.January 2, 2011 at 09:14 #334573Awful news.
A horse with lots of ability, and a very good horse on his day.
A stable star, and someone who will be missed.
RIP Joe Lively.
January 2, 2011 at 16:09 #334602Really saddened by this, JL was a good reliable yardstick and a wonderful servant to the game. It looked like just one of those unfortunate bad steps, could happen to any horse
January 2, 2011 at 19:39 #334615Was he just avoiding a fallen horse? If so it’s even more heartbreaking. Such a good, honest horse.

He avoided a faller at the fence before, which may well have knocked him out of his true stride and contributed.
Very sad to see any horse go wrong on the flat like that. The ground appeared to be like a bog too, which couldn’t have helped.January 4, 2011 at 20:18 #334785Looking at the race again, I think he was knocked by a horse behind. Such an unfortunate incident, very sad. just wish it didn’t have to happen.
