Much appreciated AP. Booking accomodation has proved to be a nightmare and therefore the closest we could get is Bracknell. Any info?

Hi Everyone
After careful consideration we are going to attend the Shergar Cup at Ascot. Very reasonably priced and as AP said, a concert after racing that should keep us amused!
We are travelling down on the Friday so any recommendations on where to head for a drink or two on Friday and of course after the races on Saturday would be much appreciated. Thanks again for all your help and advice.

I feel that the point of a pundit should be to use their experience and knowledge to point out things in the event that us viewers don’t see first time around.
I’m not an experienced race watcher so when I listen to pundits I want them to tell me or make me notice something I haven’t seen with my own eyes to help me understand why an event has occured and the subsequent consequences that follow.
Personally I like Mick and enjoy listening to him.

His national win is my first memory of racing and probably the reason I love this sport so much! I still remember kneeling on my Papa’s living room floor in front of the box cheering him home! What a beast!

I don’t understand all the negativity towards Henry.
He’s won 3 Group 1’s. Fact.
He could and probably will win more.

I must admit I feel these rants about jockeys are a bit harsh and unfair. Yes, they carry our money and when they lose we always feel they could have done something better but you cannot make all the correct decisions all the time.
Trust me, as an ex-professional sportsman I know that split second desicions are how races or games are won or lost and no-one is going to make the right call all the time! I’ve also been on the recieving end of some pretty nasty shouts from my own fans when that deisicion turns out to be the wrong one. It’s not a nice thing but is part and parcel of life and the true test is that you have the courage and belief in your ability to make the desicion again.
I just feel we should maybe lay off the jockeys a bit!! Only my opinion.

Is there a certain amount of races you have to post selections in to be eligible to win or can you just pick and choose whenever and whatever races you want?
