Both of mine were 2nd but ran good races. At least I was covered
with an e/w double, it returned £64.60 which just covered me. Two
£20 singles and a £10 e/w double. So that left me £4.60 up. At least
it’s better than a loss
Strangely enough I’m lying on the bed typing this up, but in room 4
at the Coylet Inn. It’s got a fantastic view of the loch, I took a
couple of pictures and I’ll get some nice ones in the morning. We go
for dinner at 7pm, the food here is superb. The Inn was built in 1650,
so you would expect a bit of history. As long as there’s no clanking
of chains or moaning during the night we’ll be fine.Good luck with Sean at Meydan Nick, still 25s across the boards but
plenty haven’t put a price up yet. There’s a good chance someone will
chance their luck with 33s.
I’ve backed a couple today and done the double.
2.35 Cheltenham – Jingko Blue 7/2 Bet365
2.50 Windsor – East India Express 14/1 Bet365
Hope there aren’t too many sore heads today

Thanks Jac, and we have a whole New Year to do everything again,
except this time we’re going to do it better
I was so much
in awe about my weekend with the kids (can you still call them kids
at 42
) at the Coylet that I called the Loch directly
opposite the Coylet Loch Awe. I only realised when I read back over
my thread of my howler, it is of course Loch Eck. Loch Eck is 7 miles
(in length) of beauty on a calm bright day, looking from the hotel,
the hills directly on the other side of the loch are reflected on the
Loch giving a perfect mirror image of the hills. It’s an incredible view
and the best move we ever made in our lives, all thanks to my wonderful
mum.Raymo, if I can echo Jac, yourself and your good lady have been a huge
boon to the Forum, I can’t thank you enough for all the hard work that
you both do. Not to mention your wife’s exemplary columns (damm it I
said I wouldn’t bring them up again) but it is very much….(damn it that
makes it sound worse again) appreciated. I think I’ll put my spade away
now and just wish you all a very happy and healthy New Year
I think I might just have got away with that
Nathan, Andre, Nick, John and Darren. What a half back line that would make,
although if you were thinking of playing for Scotland over in the Good
‘ol US of A, you might want another couple of centre halfs, and an extra
Goalie in too
Brazil!! did they say we were playing Brazil
Well we’re now into Hogmany, seeing it’s after 3am. I’ll be taking it easy as
Mrs BigG and I have booked for dinner at the Coylet Inn on New Year’s Day. We’ll
be staying the night, I wont drink and drive, in a beautiful room with a superb
view over Loch Awe. My youngest son, Colin and his wife Charlotte are away in
Japan at the moment so they came up on the 7th December for an early Christmas
dinner. The thought of spending hours in the kitchen cooking the full Christmas
dinner didn’t really appeal so I phoned the Coylet, they had 1 room left in the
hotel and the Glamping Pod at the side (which was amazing). I booked and Marjorie
and I stayed in the hotel. A great night then we headed to room 2. I was still awake
after 2am when I heard someone in the room, clear footsteps across the bottom of the
bed. I grabbed my phone to put the light on and grabbed a walking stick (just in case)
but not a soul there. I had no doubt someone was in the room so I checked at the bottom
of the bed and carefully entered the bathroom. There was no trace. I wasn’t sleeping
and I’d swear someone was in the room. Eventually I settled down and went to sleep.
In the morning we were reccommended a cafe a few miles away for breakfast. They
stopped doing breakfast in the Coylet, too many lock-ins and the staff were suffering
in the morning.Anyway, we headed for breakfast (delicious) and I said that we had a strange occurance
during the night, I could have sworn someone was walking in our room. Both Colin and
Charlotte stared without saying a word. “What” I said. We were all together in the bar
before we went to our room, Colin and Charlotte saw us up the stairs, which had a curved
staircse which made some stairs very narrow. After we headed to bed, they decided they
would go back into the bar as the talk and laughter was great. They spoke with many locals
and the proprietor of they Inn. When they said their parents were staying in the hotel they
were asked what room were we staying. Room 2 they said. You know that room 2 is haunted or
didn’t you know. There’s a man that walks across the room and disappears out the wall where
the door used to be, He’s been seen by some people but most just hear and feel his presence.
So the stare I got from them at breakfast explained a lot as they told me the story about room 2.I’m a huge skeptic when it comes to these things, but I 100% could guarantee that someone, or
some thing walked through our room. I’ve never been more certain of anything. It did make the
hairs on the back of my neck stand up a little, but did make it a memorable night. As it was the
last room left in the hotel looking towards the hills, not the loch, we took it. You might wonder
why we’re going back to the Coylet, well we have a loch facing room this time, but in truth I would
have taken room 2 again. In fact, I’m going to make a point at some time of going back and staying
in room 2. To be followed up

Thanks Andre, it was a great race and an amazing finish. No complaints,
I definitely got my money’s worth
Anyway, I hope everybody had a great Christmas and let’s
hope for a much better New Year
ouch

oooh, that is close

They’ve started in the King G. I think Banbridge is a bit forgotten.
I’ve backed him (prior to race)Thanks Landafar, I did back Etalon so I suppose It’s a small bonus
for being a complete idiot picking the wrong race for the competition.
I must be losing the place, I was sure I saw someone had backed Bad
(first competition choices I clocked) which is why I stuck my pair
in the 1.50. I’ve checked back, but nobody picked Bad
