December 29, 2025 at 04:31 #1748967Hello John..
Thank you for your kind message to us all. It’s been a busy but lovely Christmas for me and Dave with all the family and grandchildren and this has been my first visit back for a few days.Would like to wish you and your family a happy and healthy new year and lots of good luck following the sport we all love. Hope you’ve had a few successes over the past couple of days, I must admit I haven’t seen a lot of it this Christmas but I really enjoyed seeing young Olive Nicholls win on Viroflay the other day, that’s what racing’s all about.
Take care everyone and a Happy New Year to all.

Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...December 30, 2025 at 13:52 #1749108A bit early I know but happy new year to everyone
BigG just open new thread 2026 so if any
Ante post Golf Bets just let me knowNew season in Golf starts on January 15th
December 30, 2025 at 14:22 #1749109I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas. We got to spend Boxing Day with our kids, which was very nice.
Lossiemouth is amazing, she reminds me of the great Honeysuckle – full of heart, determination and grit.
In my TTF – all my points have come from just four horses – the other six have all run, racking up five second places between them
The swap next month will be interesting, as I have plenty of options to move out
Take Care Everyone & a Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year to everyone on this lovely thread.
December 30, 2025 at 20:53 #1749147Happy New Year Andre and Darren and good luck to you and Graham with your Golf bets for 2026..you two are on 🔥 fire.
Andre happy to hear you got to be with your family on Boxing Day same as Dave and I..Our 8yo granddaughter Emily bought her new Recorder round and her Auntie Louise bought her a Kareoke machine so you can imagine how noisy our house was.🤣
I”m similar to you Andre in TTF my Silver Army started off minus one as Alan King’s Masaccio was out for the season and I didn’t know, however 5 of my greys have scored points and Lossiemouth has come home twice
..I just need a couple of good swaps on 24th January.. I don’t think I have a chance of winning but very happy with how my stable are performing.
Have a great New Year/Hogmanay and keep safe and warm…🍷🍾🥂🎊 Jac x
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...December 31, 2025 at 04:29 #1749163Well we’re now into Hogmany, seeing it’s after 3am. I’ll be taking it easy as
Mrs BigG and I have booked for dinner at the Coylet Inn on New Year’s Day. We’ll
be staying the night, I wont drink and drive, in a beautiful room with a superb
view over Loch Awe. My youngest son, Colin and his wife Charlotte are away in
Japan at the moment so they came up on the 7th December for an early Christmas
dinner. The thought of spending hours in the kitchen cooking the full Christmas
dinner didn’t really appeal so I phoned the Coylet, they had 1 room left in the
hotel and the Glamping Pod at the side (which was amazing). I booked and Marjorie
and I stayed in the hotel. A great night then we headed to room 2. I was still awake
after 2am when I heard someone in the room, clear footsteps across the bottom of the
bed. I grabbed my phone to put the light on and grabbed a walking stick (just in case)
but not a soul there. I had no doubt someone was in the room so I checked at the bottom
of the bed and carefully entered the bathroom. There was no trace. I wasn’t sleeping
and I’d swear someone was in the room. Eventually I settled down and went to sleep.
In the morning we were reccommended a cafe a few miles away for breakfast. They
stopped doing breakfast in the Coylet, too many lock-ins and the staff were suffering
in the morning.Anyway, we headed for breakfast (delicious) and I said that we had a strange occurance
during the night, I could have sworn someone was walking in our room. Both Colin and
Charlotte stared without saying a word. “What” I said. We were all together in the bar
before we went to our room, Colin and Charlotte saw us up the stairs, which had a curved
staircse which made some stairs very narrow. After we headed to bed, they decided they
would go back into the bar as the talk and laughter was great. They spoke with many locals
and the proprietor of they Inn. When they said their parents were staying in the hotel they
were asked what room were we staying. Room 2 they said. You know that room 2 is haunted or
didn’t you know. There’s a man that walks across the room and disappears out the wall where
the door used to be, He’s been seen by some people but most just hear and feel his presence.
So the stare I got from them at breakfast explained a lot as they told me the story about room 2.I’m a huge skeptic when it comes to these things, but I 100% could guarantee that someone, or
some thing walked through our room. I’ve never been more certain of anything. It did make the
hairs on the back of my neck stand up a little, but did make it a memorable night. As it was the
last room left in the hotel looking towards the hills, not the loch, we took it. You might wonder
why we’re going back to the Coylet, well we have a loch facing room this time, but in truth I would
have taken room 2 again. In fact, I’m going to make a point at some time of going back and staying
in room 2. To be followed up
December 31, 2025 at 09:40 #1749168I love a Ghost Story ar Christmas Graham 👻 👽 and you have just made the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end.😱
You sound as though you had the best Christmas ever with your family and are set to have a wonderful Hogmanay tonight.. Loch Awe is somewhere I really want to visit it looks so beautiful and peaceful, but I’ll be sure to avoid Room 2 if we ever stay at the Coylet.
Happy Hogmanay Graham to yourself and Marjorie and your lovely family 🎊🍾🥂🍷 may 2026 be a healthy and happy one for one and all..✨️💫xx Jac & Dave x
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...December 31, 2025 at 13:02 #1749172Hi everybody
We hope you all have had a great Christmas and ae looking forward to a wonderful New Year
Like you Graham both Tracey and myself backed Banbridge but I had also backed Gaelic Warrior to win and done forecast and exacta so there was a lot of shouting going to and jumping the last in the Raymo household and the poor dog wasn’t quite sure what was going on but we sooo enjoyed it . It was a terrific race.
Hopefully we will see many more great races over the next twelve months
Have a good one tonight folks
December 31, 2025 at 19:35 #1749198Happy New Year Raymo & Tracey & thanks for all the fabulous competitions you have hosted for us this year..
x
Just wanted to end a fantastic year on this Thread, with all you lovely posters and a fantastic 2026 to come, with a song….I’ll shut up and let Agnetha say it for me..
Jac x 🍾🥂🎊✨️xThings turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...January 1, 2026 at 02:35 #1749213Thanks Jac, and we have a whole New Year to do everything again,
except this time we’re going to do it better
I was so much
in awe about my weekend with the kids (can you still call them kids
at 42
) at the Coylet that I called the Loch directly
opposite the Coylet Loch Awe. I only realised when I read back over
my thread of my howler, it is of course Loch Eck. Loch Eck is 7 miles
(in length) of beauty on a calm bright day, looking from the hotel,
the hills directly on the other side of the loch are reflected on the
Loch giving a perfect mirror image of the hills. It’s an incredible view
and the best move we ever made in our lives, all thanks to my wonderful
mum.Raymo, if I can echo Jac, yourself and your good lady have been a huge
boon to the Forum, I can’t thank you enough for all the hard work that
you both do. Not to mention your wife’s exemplary columns (damm it I
said I wouldn’t bring them up again) but it is very much….(damn it that
makes it sound worse again) appreciated. I think I’ll put my spade away
now and just wish you all a very happy and healthy New Year
I think I might just have got away with that
Nathan, Andre, Nick, John and Darren. What a half back line that would make,
although if you were thinking of playing for Scotland over in the Good
‘ol US of A, you might want another couple of centre halfs, and an extra
Goalie in too
Brazil!! did they say we were playing Brazil
