This is a scenario where we have no middle ground, you are either for or against (I am of the latter opinion). I could list numerous reasons why we should be against it. Then to be fair someone of the former could issue as many reasons why we should be for it. I dont buy this culling foxes reason though as hunting is a very unsuccesful way of doing this. There is a well known substance that is known to poison foxes this is used in culling. The idea of the hunt is to KILL something not to CULL it.

Perhaps all the anti_Hunting brigade can start yelling Tally ho and get lots of dogs to chase someone who approves of hunting, then let them meliciously tear them to shreads whilst we chortle to ourselves on our horseback! That seems fair to me.

At least the fox is living its own life and doing what NATURE intended.

I do agree however, that our government does not believe in democracy and they are using this issue as a potential vote winner.

Could you be implying that just maybe an imposter is lurking, whilst riding on the tail fin of a legend?

Have to agree about the waves in Newquay I was in a B+B there not so long ago and a very very pretty blonde waved at me :). Wont say what happened next;)

Ok call me mad everyone, but I think JON might just win this, he is getting a very very big following, and I believe the public love him, I agree he will be up for eviction this week, and in fact possibly every week, but everyday he is the one people are discussing he is the focus of the TV highlights and well he is the most genuine character in the house. Federico is very very annoying and even the schoolgirls votes cannot save him from eviction shortly. JON TO WIN :)

On first impressions this lot seem better than last years lot (I know that isn’t hard), from the start I thought Ray was the likely winner, however I have to say Nush is looking a very likely winner now too. Jon seems certain to go this week as well Anouska has been revealing her body ever since she knew she was up for eviction. Playing the game very early, I believe she will stay for a few weeks now, if I had to suggest a bet at the moment it would be for Sissy to be the 2nd evictee, she is annoying a good few, especially on the food thing and well I cannot see the public voting for anyone else to be evicted over her (hopefully will get a good price;)). Gos and Cameron will stay a while but neither has a hope of winning, Scott I cant stand him and wish he would go and go soon, but I think he will do well, Justine and Steph will probably go soon, Tania might do well though, but I will be surprised if the winner is anyone other than Ray or Nush.

I have to take my share from the plate too. That was certainly the highlight of an otherwise poor season so far.

I have slight reservations that he may be at his best at this time of the season, but you have to say he was ‘awesome’ today. Only a second off the course record when making all and not on the fastest of going stands this up for what it is. Sprint Cup, well who knows but I doubt we will see him going 12f again.

    <br>

That statement was made very much tongue in cheek, I never had the priveledge to see Arkle run during my lifetime, so I guess Best Mate has become my Arkle.

It is of course impossible to predict which of the two horses would have won on a said day, buy I guess people who saw Arkle race will say Arkle, people who didn’t may say Best Mate. Maybe come 2006 people of all ages will have to admit that Best Mate is the best ever. One more point is Best Mate will never run enough times to earn as high a rating as Arkle did, so I cannot take the ratings as the casting stone.

Some incredible performances over the 3 days. Highlight for me has to be

BEST MATE He destroyed a field of high quality chasers, He has done what I thought was impossible and has become the greatest steeplechaser I have seen in my lifetime, a feat which he has had to overtake Desert Orchid to achieve. Make no mistake he is the BEST steeplechaser in history and will prove that beyond doubt next year and quite possibly the year after.

Lord Sam deserves a mention too he ran an exceptional race until he got hampered he may not have won but would have beaten Coolnagoorna IMO, and I hope his small yard have some big results with him over fences next season. Iris’s Gift too, has the potential to be a superstar.

I have to say I was on Intersky today, in fact I didn’t fancy the Rooster at all, well lets just say what an awesome performance he put up. If RC had put up a performance like that everyone would be saying "thats the best hurdler I have ever seen". All credit to RB, Hobbs and Johnson, fantastic performance.

Interesting write up Daylight, I will be very surpriseed if the race winner is trained by anyone other than Jonjo O’Neill, Intersky Falcon is my choice, but if he doesn’t win I believe Rhinestone Cowboy will. I agree about an outsider having place opportunities as both Like A Butterfly and Rooster Booster, seem bad value to me.

One name you have dismissed that I will throw into the hat is Copeland, this horse defeated Rooster Booster twice last season, giving weight away both times and also defeated Intersky Falcon albeit slightly fortunately. At projected odds of around 33-1 he is definitely interesting, admittedtly backing horses on what they have acheved in the past is a route to the poor house, but if anywhere near that form he Is a screaming good EW bet, I am willing to take that risk. Also do the followers of Rooster Booster think that 100-1 Self Defense (not a spelling mistake by me it’s how it’s spelt:) ) is a good price after all the Rooster only just beat this one last time yet is about 93 points shorter  not a selection from me just an interesting side issue. As a safe EW bet I will put up Marble Arch, 20-1 seems very fair to me as he has not had a race to suit or the going to suit all season he will get that here and I expect he can place again.

One final thought, why is Iberus still declared in the race, does Mr Pipe know something no one else seems to know.

    Excellent write up Deany

One thing that strikes me is the differential between the pools, Pool A looks a lot lot tougher than Pool B, New zealand are definitely interesting, however the fact they are forfeting a game against Kenya worries me, im interested in the WEST INDIES to get through from the Pool, also heard that Jermain Lawson is a man to watch, he is 12-1 to finish top WI wicket taker, that to me seems a good bet. As for winners well im going for SA.

As for individual performances well i believe SA will have more opportunity here as they are playing weaker opposition more often than Pakistan or Australia will. So ill go for Pollock as top wicket taker and Gibbs as top scorer.

As for Englands chances well with so many doubts about them playing Zimbabwe they will have to beat 2 of India, Pakistan or Australia. However, they may have confidence going into these fixtures as they are playing the weaker teams first.
