I agree. That half of the partnership has a history that is very dubious. That history doesnt promote trust.
Just a working boy to start with.
Lot of money getting thrown around on horses and betting.
Lot of 1/2 winners.Very few losers.
Denman will tell us for sure on Friday 13th.I have said on this forum since his heart problem surfaced that Denman would be very unlikely to be the same horse we saw last year.
Now I may be right or wrong,I’ve been wrong many times, but that is what betting is all about.Backing your judgement.
With this view on Denman I think the best bet in this race is to sell Denman on the spread market. If I’m right he will be pulled up which would mean a massive return.I really think they will look after him if he is struggling.
What do you lot think?Dear Beckster,
I am not Jesus but am related as his father indirectly created both of us .
In respect of this forum being about opinions I thoroughly agree, however I think GWILSON will be interested at your newly found political correctness.
Dear Aristo,
You may well prove to be correct. But his breeding (Flememsfirth and Le Moss being the damsire) suggests all is not lost.
Add to that he was a 3m Irish point winner and his trainers opinion.
Who knows, time will tell.back to see what you’re all up to.
People shouldnt listen to bookmakers spreading
vile, nasty rumours.
The insane have though.
Lets all back a horse that beat a 3mile hurdler by a head when
in receipt of 5lb in a restricted race to win the CHAMPION HURDLE!!!!
that makes perfect sense doesn’t it? ?
WHITEOAK!!!
Give up the game before you lose your house.
Mind you you’ve already lost your mind.Left you lot to it for a while.
Come back to see some people still fancy a sick horse.
Who is this beckster?
Is he Jesus?
Does he know everything?
Kauto Star is easily the best horse in the race.
Best horse doesn’t always win a GC though(Nortons Coin,The Thinker Master Oats spring to mind.)
Not a betting race, too many questions.
Educated each way guess-Imperial Commander.
Is beckster enjoying Lisa Hales or is he just a name dropper?
Anyway what does she know other than Thomas The Tank Engines a good earner. The chocolate hat that FOF suggested I buy is waiting at the foot of my stairs.
How could anyone not be impressed by Binocular today?
Katchit appears to be way below par but that was the case last term b4 Xmas.
I have hope but it is much thinner than b4
With the exception of Binocular, last years Supreme remains a poor form race.
But this horse is massively progressive,
Congrats to all who saw it prior.
Not me!?!Massinis Maguire is a very big price and while he still has a way to go,as they all do, he has lots going for him.
Market Man is a cracking prospect but seems a bit fragile so not an AP option. But if he got there he is a classy type.Hi all,
For me it still has to be Denman. He is the champ and even with a suspect ticker I think he’ll be too strong for the rest. Anything around evens or better is value for me on Denman albeit I’m not a big gambler.
The brilliant Kauto Star is clearly not the same horse he once was in my opinion. He hasn’t been the same since picking up that minor injury pre-Cheltenham 2008. Not that I’m blaming the injury, I just feel his decline started around then. However, a Kauto Star at 80% can still cause any top horse a problem or two.
Of the other contenders in with a squeak it would have to be Neptune Collonges for me.
Hi and welcome.
Kauto Star I agree with you he is a French bred with some tough races in the book. His best is past.On Denman,I think you must be nuts.Horses with problems don’t win Gold Cups.Denman we have been told has had a problem big enough to ensure that it required at least six months rest and rehab. That cannot be overlooked.
I want to acknowledge a champion but I unfortunately believe that Denman will be a one season wonder. It is a shame and I hope I am wrong.
Nobody who is close to the horse wants to say anything about it.They talk about transparency and all that tosh but this is an issue no one wants to address.I’ve opted for the falsely run race category for the Newbury staying hurdle.
I don’t think it will stand the test of time.
I think on decent ground Blazing Bailey will be tough to beat.
Duc De Regniere has always been a talented horse and they are my two against the field.I’ve no doubt the resolution Katchit showed up the Cheltenham hill to see off his rivals is what won him the day.
When they jumped the second last and he and Sizing Europe came off the bridle(Osana was already being strongly ridden)SE folded tamely. That is not the trademark of a Champion. And there was no real excuse was there from the connections?Just a few ifs and maybes.
Watch the race again and you will see Katchit travelled really well throughout, not being scrubbed along to stay in touch and outstaying his rivals.
I see no reason why Ascot won’t suit.
What won’t see him to best advantage is proper soft ground.
Binocular has everything to prove and you have to say there are unanswered questions.Howard Johnson is fretting over running Tidal Bay because it is a right handed track. He’ll act on one but won’t be at his best.
If the ground is good/g/sft I think he’ll give it a shot.
If its soft he will probably go elsewhere and wait for another day.
IMO that is the right thing to do.Great star though Kauto has been he is in decline and will be vulnerable but there isn’t much depth to the race is there? In fact there is generally a distinct lack of depth in the chasing ranks fullstop this season
the point I am making about the BBC is that they have been paring back their sports coverage for years.Racing isn’t being discriminated against.
lees article has been written a thousand times before.
It is not insightful. If the ground is soft on Sunday we will not see the best of Katchit and the 4lb+ he has to concede some of his rivals will not help either.
Hopefully this will be the case and the bookies push him out a bit further after a narrow but honourable defeat.
Then while many on this forum and around the world are going on about Binocular and CAJ I can clean up without hassle.
The Supreme Novice form is NOT STRONG.It is an ILLUSION.
CAJ WON A NOVICES HANDICAP RECEIVING LUMPS OF WEIGHT!!
YOU ARE BEING TURNED OVER!!If what I say all turns out to be rubbish and Binocular or CAJ win the CH I wiil run naked and potless down the hill at Cheltenham after the Champion Hurdle.Fair enough?
First of all, Araldur is no a relation of mine though a blonde I once knew compared me to a horse.I never found out why?
However,I am related to various celebritys who also stuck their necks out, including Mary Queen Of Scots.Sorry Ian but if you think 6/4 KS is price of the century, you’ll be on already and will miss the 7/4 on the day.
the alan lee article is the same reactionary drivel churned out at every opportunity by journos with nothing else to say.
No one on here seems to have noticed that there is virtually no live football on the BBC anymore. No live Cricket. Is there any live Rugby?Mind you we get more F****** dancing shows than you can shake a stick at.THATS IT!!!! A SHOW WITH DANCING JOCKEYS!!!THAT WILL MAKE EVERYONE GO RACING!!
I am afraid that there is nothing worthy of a rating in excess of 160 at 2miles running in the 2m chase division other than MM.
That means there is nothing for MM to frighten away.
He is going to find it hard to be remembered as a great champion beating rubbish. That is a great shame.TB will prove a much better horse at 3m as his trainer has always maintained. He will be worthy of a rating in excess of 160 at that sort of trip.
Grasshopper is right about the handicapper,he is a lazy wotsit.
By the way,how lucky are some people??
Clive Smith must be owed a few favours by the AlmightyKauto Star is the horse to beat on past form, how could he not be?
But the key word is PAST.
French bred horse who has had some very hard races in last three seasons and I’ll stick my neck out and say he is very much in decline and will struggle to win another race this season.I’ve said this on previous threads.Time for new boys to come thru.
At three miles the only horse for me is Tidal Bay..That is the problem though.
The only decent novices from last years bunch are TB Noland and Thyne Again. The rest are only reasonable. -
