"Gosford Park" – stellar cast spend three hours doing **** all.

Indeed, an enjoyable couple of hours wallowing in decadent indolence, though admittedly it was no more than a hack canter for the ensembled glitterati, save for Charles Dance’s perfectly delivered line "an Englishman is not waited on at breakfast"

Regarding the likes of the new Casino Royale (haven’t seen) it’s surely safe to say that remakes are rarely an improvement on the original and likewise sequels seldom as good as the ‘prequel’

I thought Jurassic Park was crap; had it all been like the much trailled scene of beasties galloping majestically across the plain, fine…but no just violent for the most part.

The Nicolas Cage remake of The Wicker Man was offensive on too many levels to contemplate – devoid of all the premises which made the original work, artless in the extreme, and extremely unpleasantly misogynistic.

Some of the US’s more flagrant "it was us what won it" pieces of historical revisionism, U-571 to name but one, also irritate.

But in fairness to Amerikay, grayson, not only did they win WW2(and as was said previously the sequels are never as good) single handedly but they also defeated the aliens and saved our planet in ‘Independence Day’.
All together now U—-S—-A, U—-S—-A, U—-S—-A, come to think of it I heard some where that in cinemas across Amerikay the audiences would stand and chant this at the end of that crap film when the aliens were defeated….. plenty of Texas longhorn salutes as well no doubt.

I actually liked Children Of Men, albeit it did feel like a two-part BBC drama rather than a film (I guess that is the non-Hollywood syndrome).

Ted, I watched "Hot Fuzz" on Saturday night and laughed all the way through.

It’s no Shaun of the Dead granted, but it doesn’t deserve the panning it gets.

Hot Fuzz was great! I’ve not been able to keep a straight face on visits to Somerfield since…

I think it’s probably a good film if you haven’t read the book but I had, so I was terribly depressed afterwards  ..

i don’t know, i quite liked the film but came out thinking that they hadn’t really explained much and that if you read the book you’d probably have a much better experience.

The worst film i’ve seen for a while, disappointingly so as as old Bob directed it, was the good shepherd. Nothing happened and what did was horribly depressing!! I understood it wasn’t a action thriller before I watched it but i’m at a loss now to see that anything actaully happened at all!!!!

GraysonsColumn slags off Nicholas Cage’s "The Wicker Man" – and quite rightly too. It’s not a patch on the original which is one of the best films I’ve ever seen.
