I don’t know how many baseball fans there are around here but last night’s game between the New York Yankees and the Cleveland Guardians (Game 3 of their American League Championship Series) was one for the ages.

It looked like the Guardians had it, then two home runs for the Yankees snatched the lead, before a huge home run from the Guardians made it level at 5-5 after the nine innings. The Guardians then won it in the 10th to keep themselves in it at 1-2. A win for the Yankees would have seen them go 3-0 up in a best of 7 series.

Sport at its most dramatic and best.

Sometime ago I spent about a year in Cleveland, always followed the Cav’s as King James was playing around 2006/7’s and went to see the Browns loose a few times. But im glad Cleveland are in the mix, although I never went to see them under their old name.
Even found a bar next to the Browns stadium selling draft..old speckled hen, they were very generous in buying me beers, fond memories.

I attended a Yankees game when I was in New York in the late 90s. I would recommend going to a baseball game to anyone if they are ever in America. There are plenty of games in the regular season, so it should be possible to get tickets.

I like baseball. Given a choice between watching T20 cricket or a baseball game, I would choose baseball every time.

Another great game in Cleveland last night, with the Yankees winning 8-6 to take a 3-1 lead in the series.

LA Dodgers lead the New York Mets 3-2 in the National League series.

It is a Yankees v Dodgers World Series.

The bookmakers make the Los Angeles (formerly Brooklyn) franchise the marginal favourites but it could go either way.

I cannot bring myself to bet against New York, so I will go for the Bronx Bombers to win 4-3 at 11/2.

A 2-0 lead for the Dodgers but the first game went to extra innings and the second was close.

The next three games are in the Bronx, so the Yankees will be hoping to make home advantage pay.

I follow baseball regularly and thought what a coincidence to have a Dodgers vs. Yankees World Series in an election year.

Back for three games in the Bronx the Yankees definitely have to win tonight otherwise the series won’t be going back to the West Coast.

Interesting to see if Ohtani will make the line-up, but it could be a game where the bats start to explode.

Ohtani’s injury looked really bad. It will be incredible if he plays.

The Yankees need Judge and co to properly step up to the plate tonight.

3-0 to the Dodgers. Can’t see the Yankees winning four in a row.

Not only that, I assume the Series won’t even leave NY.
Ohtani played despite his injury scare, Freeman homered in his fifth straight game and their pitching is doing what they should do. Just shutting down the Yankees offence.

Yes, the Dodgers pitchers have done a good job neutralising the Yankee big guns. Which is what Cleveland did not do in the ALCS.

That was more like it from the Yankees. 11-4 winners in Game 4. Still a mountain to climb, though.

It was a good comeback win though after being down 2-0 in the first. They got it going with two big innings (3rd and 8th) and were able to shut down Ohtani. Just imagine what could happen if Judge who’s only batting .152 in the WS would hit proper form.
This series will become very interesting, if the Yankees manage to take it back to LA.

Game 5: Yankees off to a quick start. Up 3-0 in the 1st with Gerrit Cole on the mound.

Disappointing that the Yankees blew a 5-0 lead. If they had won, made it 3-2 and taken it back to California, then Game 6 would have been interesting.

No complaints though. The Dodgers were the better side and deserved to win.

It was a monumental collapse and YouTube is full of it. But as you’ve said, game 6 would have been quite interesting, especially with the Yankees on a two-game winning streak.

US sports never cease to amaze me when it comes to late drama. Every year you have a new scenario.

Congratulations to the Dodgers for a well executed season and coping well with pressure when it mattered.
