my wish for racing in 2009 is that somehow all the meetings dropped by the bbc are taken up by ch4,also that the betfair chase is move from the joke track that is haydock to a course worthy of it or the top horses will start advoiding it.
above all else lets hope we can all still afford to go racing this time next year. HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL.December 31, 2008 at 15:46 #2005911. Improved safety for horses and riders
2-28 It really just revolves around more international jump racing
29. The Z Monster taking the BC ClassicDecember 31, 2008 at 16:23 #200601The safety of Horses and jockeys are always paramount in my wishes.
But also ide like to back a ton of winners!!!!!!
December 31, 2008 at 16:45 #200611Wishes for 2009:
1. Well Chief to beat Master Minded fair and square in the QMCC
2. Inglis Drever to recover and win his 4th Stayers
3. Massive on the day gamble to appear on an AP-JP Grand National runner and for it to win
4.A horse to go for the Triple Crown.
5.Fallon to come back and not c*ck up againDecember 31, 2008 at 16:46 #200613A rather personal one
I wish to be more racey this coming year
actually do more than I think
and rather than leave things for tomorrow
actually do everything the day before.
I ‘ve started this plan already
and I was up ’til early hours
celebrating the New Year.
I drank 3/4 of a bottle of Vino
some rather tasty polish lager
polished off a few posts
and finished off with a customary crone.
At 5am I finally got my head down
but not before I had made the list
for today of things to do.
that needed doing tomorrow
I was up bright as a button at 0915am
and wondered at my constitution and how I actually do it ?flatcapgamble…
I’ve checked your shoes and underpants
recently and conclude
you are actually two or three people.
I intend to call the authorities
the day after tomorrowDecember 31, 2008 at 16:49 #200615My wish is for My Way de Solzen & Tidal Bay to return to the form that they had shown previous.
And also for me to back loads of winners at Cheltenham.

MWDS – agreed
Tidal Bay – put up a best ever figure on Boxing Day on his 1st time at the trip. Don’t think he needs to ‘return’ to form although his jumping hasn’t been as fluent as during his Arkle victory.
December 31, 2008 at 17:06 #2006222 things.
For Derek Thompson to just…………….well ………..anything really that involves his disappearance……………just go away and crawl under some rock and stay there.
Secondly for Hurricane Fly to win the Supreme and Kauto to regain his Crown.
Here’s one. Who was the only horse to regain the champion hdl after losing his crown?
December 31, 2008 at 19:24 #200656Your horse, "Comedy of Errors"!
December 31, 2008 at 20:32 #200665After this year’s blank, Mickey Joe to go out with a major Group 1 winner …… maybe Arazan in the Guineas or Sea The Stars at Epsom.
December 31, 2008 at 20:59 #200669P.Bowen to sue the Mail On sunday for every penny they’ve got, over an article about the Grand National / Mckelvey and win. Bankrupting them.

If you’d said The Sun I’d be 100% with you whatever they wrote – as it’s only the Mail…
December 31, 2008 at 22:29 #200681idont wish loads of winners…just the right winners! plenty of 8-1+ winners would be goos…especially if in combo bets.
Otherwise I want the great Inglis Drever to come off the bridle coming down the hill and look beat and then lead in the last stride to nail Punchestowns!
December 31, 2008 at 22:33 #200683Loads of winners and a owning a stakes winner…
Happy new year too you and yours.
January 1, 2009 at 02:31 #200720If Binny, What a Friend, Kauto Star and Master Minded all win at Chelters I won’t give a hoot about the rest of the year if either Hurrrican Fly or Calgary Bay win that would really put the icing on the cake.
Whatever happens happens but wha tI want more than anything is that we end up with a couple of real champions that the younger people on here can tell their grandkids about.
Racing needs champions to promote the sport more than anything.

Seconded without reservation. Can we have that Jones woman dropped down a very deep well whilst we’re at it?

Adoptive father of two. The patron saint of lower-grade fare. A gently critical friend of point-to-pointing. Kindness is a political act.
January 1, 2009 at 15:17 #200783Well Chief to make a miracle comeback and defeat Master Minded in the Champion Chase. What an awesome sight that would be.
Denman, Kauto Star & Exotic Dancer to be all fit and ready to race on Gold Cup day.
Aidan O’Brien is a great trainer and Coolmore produce lots of brilliant horses but it would be nice if other stables could win some Group 1 races this year just to add a bit of variety to the flat.
Europe to dominate the Breeders Cup again at Santa Anita.
