Terrible record in this, so always reluctant to have an Antepost.
Shortlist at moment is…………
Alexei
Country Park
Dance and Glance
Trustintimes……but not strong enough on any of them to single them out right now
The only one I’ll definitely bet if he goes is Faivoir, and tempted by the 50’s right now. Just a case of working out whether this is a serious target, or the main aim is The County
Faivoir
February 5, 2026 at 22:52 #1753624Faivoir it is then.
No idea what race he returns to form in, be this, The Morebattle, The County, or The Scottish Champion Hurdle, I’m confident he’ll pop up, and pop up at a price.
A real regular horse for me, but swerved him last twice, particularly last time, where he was single figures in a race that didn’t look at any point like being a serious target.
Cliff time though, and hoping to beat 33’s
Only one of interest, though I could be interested in the outsider of the field, Poet Laureate
Faivoir 50’s EW5Pls/50’s
February 5, 2026 at 23:49 #1753626I reckon it’ll be the County then retirement, VTC. As you know, I’ve already backed him for that, so hoping that it’s the plan.
As for this race, I’m on Un Sens A La Vie at 6s. Been put away since before Christmas, has form with the current Supreme favourite (what price would Old Park Star be if he were running off 130-ish here?) and the stable tends to target the race.
I also quite like Milldam e/w, but will wait until Saturday in the hope of better odds.
February 6, 2026 at 05:17 #1753638The ground looking like being pretty soft.
February 6, 2026 at 05:52 #1753641All In You 6-1 ew 5 places
The Skelton horse looks a big player and the market has caught on but at an each way price I’ve sided with the Greatrex horse. Has the right age profile of recent winners of this and finished in front of the Skelton horse on seasonal debut on soft ground and won his warm up race for this cosily. He’ll be held up so if all goes well he’ll be coming through at the business end of the race. The faster they go the better. And he has won 3 times on heavy ground and very soft ground in France so any worsening of ground conditions shouldn’t be an inconvenience.
Bucephalus, Wellington Arch, Un Sens A La Vie, Hot Fuss, Milldam, and Dance And Glance likely to be up with the pace or not far off it according to some pace map data I’ve seen.
February 6, 2026 at 08:12 #1753650No henderson horse!
Handicapper never seems to relent on go dante but he likes the track, handles the ground so at 20s i’d have a bit each way.
February 6, 2026 at 11:17 #1753657Ground is now heavy.
February 6, 2026 at 20:23 #1753699Missed the tasty prices on Milldam so I’ve reluctantly passed him by.
Dance And Glance is untested on heavy but on breeding he should cope and, to my eye, he has a high enough knee action. He’s drifted out to 18s so I’ve backed him each way.
February 6, 2026 at 21:27 #1753712I’m with All in you as well. Backed him at 5’s ante post and have pressed up further at 7’s and in a double with Jig’s Forge in the following race.
All in you will love the ground. The concern is trying to come from last turning in to being in front of them all on the line in that ground. I’m hoping plenty will have had their eyeballs sucked from their sockets on the run to the line. It’s going to be as tough as it gets. And I couldn’t have the favourite personally. If it’s as well in as it’s claimed to be it should have won its previous race without too much trouble. Might just be one of those always flatters to deceive types!
February 6, 2026 at 22:06 #1753715Will take a proper look tom, as currently at Grantley Adams airport waiting for flight back into Cardiff airport.
Might punt the Mulholland horse each way. We’ll see.February 6, 2026 at 22:25 #1753717tyt, I’m in the same boat with Milldam, but I’ve taken the 12-1 win, and a bit on Poet Laureate 66-1 ew
February 6, 2026 at 22:44 #1753721Tutti Quanti at 5/1 WIN for me. Has course form and acts on heavy, Nicholls has been very selective with his Saturday entries and he’s the one that stands out.
Un Sens A La Vie is next best and worth a saver at 8/1, imo.

February 6, 2026 at 23:59 #175373350’s for Go Dante simply too big to resist now as well.
February 7, 2026 at 08:28 #1753742Bucephalus 28s each way, 1st 5 (BOG)
February 7, 2026 at 09:02 #1753745I’m also a a fan of Favoir. I can see him easily run top 5 here. Also like to see Wellington Arch bounce back to form.
Wellington Arch 25/1 EW
Favoir 40/1 EWFebruary 7, 2026 at 09:35 #1753749The Hardest Geezer 14-1.
The more I know the less I understand.
