This horse made a deep, deep, impression on me on his British début last season and I feel that he must have injured himself when sprawling on landing in his next race, at Ascot.

Some dismal runs followed but he looked back on track when defeating Southfield Theatre in a Grade Two at Newbury, only to disappoint again on his next two runs, failing to finish on both occasions. And then he hacks up again today, although his only serious rival fell.

I refuse to believe that this horse hasn’t got the innate ability to be an absolute top-notcher. Is there still some underlying physical problem after Ascot or is he just soft mentally?

    If only we knew….

Yes agreed, if only we knew. I have no doubt they will say it is down to the better ground but was very impressive today and appeared to be tanking before Dunraven Storm fell.
    Aintree next?
