    Thanks RH and DJ

Actually I’m gulity of misquoting Wikipedia, what is written is:

"Since Nijinsky, only Nashwan in 1989 has won both the Guineas and the Derby, and in addition no Derby winner has even entered the St. Leger since Reference Point in 1987"

which can be interpreted as no Derby winner has run in the Leger since Reference Point (true??) rather than not been entered at some point earlier in the season.

Well this is what I think is wrong with horseracing now. I think horses are bred for the mile and to just get the mile and a half. That’s not a great horse, thats a champion horse but not the best of a generation.

I don’t think most Derby winners these days are true mile and a half horses because after the derby they are reduced to 1m 2f (Dylan Thomas).

Till the next triple crown winner…..
