And what can we do stop the plans to build 1200 houses in an area that will basically finish off Newmarket as one of the worlds leading training centres.

Assasination would probally be the best form of defence.

I talked with Rachel and Tom Goff on Saturday-and will be trying my best to help the group in the weeks leading up to Christmas.
November 12, 2009 at 14:42 #258356I thought this was meant to be ‘intelligent discussion’? "Assassination"? Grow up…

Personally Pengamon you’re the one who spoiled my Newmarket experience……….
November 12, 2009 at 19:42 #258402Newmarket should be under some sort of protected status.
When i went in September I thought it was a fantastic and wonderful place looking across the Heaths and seeing the huge Millenium Stand which hits you as soon as you see it and gives you Goosebumps.
1200 houses is a lot and will make it as has been stated a few times just a dormitory town for Cambridge which is full of students and blummin cyclists.
Newmarket should be left as it is.
November 12, 2009 at 20:13 #258407Why indeed, the man’s a complete disgrace, particularly given his involvement in racing and breeding.
As are the planning authorities, who seem to be able to disregard the views of the vast majority of local people. People of Newmarket – write to your council and tell them in no uncertain terms let this go through and you are OUT at the next election. That might help concentrate their minds.
November 12, 2009 at 21:17 #258415I wish Lord Derby every success in his charitable endeavour.

November 23, 2009 at 23:02 #260221Even the Racing world has to move with the times.
Peole are crying out for homes and the punter cannot stand in their way.
November 24, 2009 at 10:11 #260256Tom, there are plenty of homes empty in Newmarket – Studlands Park has loads of capacity after the American Airforce bases nearby have closed down or cut back.
The town is incredibly busy already and this development would cause gridlock despite the new clocktown roundabout which has, I believe, proved a success.

Surely that is a bit over the top Bob? we all have to make a little sacrifice on our over crowded country/planet.
neil – "When i went in September I thought it was a fantastic and wonderful place looking across the Heaths and seeing the huge Millenium Stand which hits you as soon as you see it and gives you Goosebumps.
"So because neil has goosebumps 1,200 families are denied a home and workers will be out of a job instead of building homes?
November 24, 2009 at 13:12 #260277Corm, for the love of all that is good, please ban this blatant troll once and for all.
