Owen could hardly refuse could he? And he may still think Keegan is a c*** (probably does i sense)
With Shearer the whole droning on about whos been in touch with who and how hes "definately going to be a great manager" (what? How would Keegan know?)…blah blah blah…how he could nt make testimonial blah blah (then i turned off)
appointments of number twos or whatever should be discreet and not played out in public
Shearer (who is a c*** we understand) has played the "king over the water" bit a little too much. In fact, i think he would possibly be a crap manager myself. not bright enough (get him off MOTD PLEASE) and maybe too self centred
January 30, 2008 at 12:28 #138918Even at this early stage, it seems to me that the doubters are being proved right about Keegan’s return to Newcastle United.
This was an emotive appointment, steeped in sentiment.
Keegan’s tenure at St James’ may be short lived. I don’t think he has the desire or motivation any longer.
The natives will soon become very restless when the desired turnaround in fortunes are not forthcoming.

January 30, 2008 at 15:29 #138980The Newcastle fans need to give Keegan time to rebuild. Firstly they should be happy if Newcastle avoid relegation this season and not expect more.
Keegan has inherited a set of players who do not play his style of football ( some exceptions with Owen being one ). He needs at least 2 seasons to sell and buy players in order to build a team for future success. I am surprised at the appointment of Wise and time will tell if it will be successful.

January 30, 2008 at 17:33 #139013Considering our squad is down to the bare bones as a result of the ACN and also injuries, then he hasn’t exactly had the easiest of starts, 2 away days at Arsenal.
February 2, 2008 at 19:39 #139794The local players Gazza and Waddle left Newcastle. If your local players jump ship then the top players from outside the area will just use you.The great thing about English football in the past was teams like Villa and Forest could be European Champions. The big clubs are getting stronger,E.U.F.A. seem unable to stem the tide.I think Newcastle will find it very hard to break into a Champions League spot.
If you go to back a certainty always buy a return ticket.
February 9, 2008 at 17:12 #141671i agree with kwai, they just need to set their sights lower – maybe league 1 or 2 might help
February 10, 2008 at 12:37 #141913Doesn’t KK look utterly fed up already. I am not being flippant, but I think he might even pack it in before the season’s out.

February 10, 2008 at 12:50 #141916If they set their sights lower, say be like Blackburn or Villa, they might get something.
I’m no Villa fan, but I think their trophy cabinet is actually fuller than Newcastle’s and includes a European Cup. Villa fans might well suggest that aiming to be like them would mean Newcastle raising their sights, not lowering them.
February 11, 2008 at 13:38 #142243I don’t think many Toon fans expect us to be near the top 4.
March 8, 2008 at 00:37 #149019david blaine is apparently gutted at the minute – he has discovered his 44 day record of doing **** all in a box has been smashed by michael owen.
March 18, 2008 at 12:42 #152252I don’t like laughing at other clubs misfortune but in Newcastle’s case I will have a small chuckle.
All this cobblers about "best, most passionate and deserving fans in the country" is a joke. Most deluded fans more like. The atmosphere at St James’ is like a morgue most of the time.
And who can forget that idiot off Sky Sports News getting a touch of ‘man-moisture’ over Michael Owen at his signing press conference on the St James Park pitch or the thousands of misguided unfortunates who had turned out to greet their latest mercenary.
Oh and another "massive" club, Chelsea, managed to scrape together 7,143 fans for a home Premier League match with Coventry City. They are the most fickle bunch you can find. Not that i’m biased or anything

Nice one, centurion.

March 20, 2008 at 20:37 #152978following the great news that shannon matthews was found safe, her mum has said that shannon’s first words to her when they met up were "mum, have newcastle won yet?" ….. to which her mum replied "don’t be silly love, you were only gone 5 weeks"
May 1, 2008 at 16:36 #160970Keegan had a shocking start but has turned it around, he has a knack of attracting good flair players remember Ginola, Asprilla and co and if Mike Ashley gives him the financal backing expect a summer shopping spree from KK.
