As of Tuesday, on the ratings taken from the BHA site, the lowest current ratings are:
Chases and Hurdles – 37 Hi Blue (Tracey Barfoot Saunt)
Nearest ‘challengers’ are Regal River (chases 46) and Clodagh Valley (hurdles 51)
A new entrant just a few pounds behind Hi Blue is Lucy Normille’s chaser Turbulent Flight, who has been dropped 16lb to an eye-watering OR of 43 (i.e. 3lb lower than Quixall Crossett at his lowest ebb) following her 60l last in a Hexham novice chase a month ago.
She’s entered in the selling handicap chase at Kelso next Wednesday. Even though it’s a 0-95, she’s 26lb out of the weights, so Alex Voy’s 10lb allowance isn’t going to help a right lot. Be sure to cheer her on, y’all!

May 3, 2009 at 14:10 #225292Don’t say I don’t keep you informed:
‘TURBULENT FLIGHT is very slow.’ –
North’s Notes March 10
although perhaps ‘inordinately’ might be substituted for ‘very’.
