Planetarium runs in the 2.25 at Haydock tomorrow. Your advice, is he

    a. A horse that has not trained on.
    b. A sick horse from an out of form stable.
    c. One of the best handicapped horses in training.

He is the horse that finshed 2nd in the Zetland stakes last year, sandwiched between Twice Over & Stubbs Art, who are now rated around 116 & 112 respectively. Poor old Planetarium hasn’t reached those dizzy heights, and has to race off 87 tomorrow. His 2yo form looked progressive & he seemed the type to train on, what’s gone wrong? I see Joe Fanning is on Captain Webb rather than him tomorrow. I still think he will prove to be better than an 87 rated horse, maybe we’ll have to wait until M.Johnston is in better form to see for certain.

B and C for me. Even if not taking the Zetland among the first 3 literally, he looks well handicapped on that run and his maiden form. Think ideally we may want further still than 12f as well but couldn;t back anything from the yard at the moment.

King Columbo (5.35 Sandown) also represents the Zetland form and is well drawn and in good nick.

Anybody have any news on Planetarium ?

Haven’t seen any entries for him since he was tailed off at Haydock a couple of months ago. His stablemate, Captain Webb, who finished last in that race, also seems to have gone missing.

I know he’s only beaten one horse home this year, but I can’t imagine that he has not trained on. I’m no pedigree expert, but most of his relatives ran well as 3yo’s or older. With him being by Fantastic Light & seeming to have a real middle distance pedigree, I was thinking he would maybe even progress as a 3yo, or older.
