Somehow managed to get a million England caps when one seemed excessive and now has suddenly become Sky’s top pundit!

Well for one he was the best English right back for 10 years and has won every honour going in the domestic game more than once, and he has also proved that he is a very good pundit with his analysis and with the insight and honesty he gives to games! I think he’s great mate!!

HAHA he is marmite! but as annoying as he maybe,(im a united fan by the way) i am surprised at some of the points he makes and some of them are actually very good. I have spoken to quite a few other anti Neville fans who think he is quite good too!!

I think he’s an above average pundit. Okay, that’s not saying much, but, apart from his habit of saying "in my opinion / in my honest opinion" too often, I like listening to what he has to say.

The fact that Gary Neville was the best right back England had for over 10 years goes a very long way to explaining why the national side were incapable of winning anything.
I recall watching the 2002 World Cup and noting that England, to a man, had the worst first touch of any of the sides in the tournament. Our obsession with systems overlooks the fact that we neglected to teach such basics for a generation in schools etc.

I couldn’t stand him as a footballer and have always had a negative attitude towards him as a man – much as one can have without knowing somebody personally.

I do however find him very good as a pundit and enjoy listening to what he has to say.
