September 9, 2008 at 16:51 #180208Agree with you about the Neon Neon track.
Heard it on the Culture Show but had to see the repeat to see who it was in the first place.
Alphabeat are slowly growing on me, plus Stine is a real cutie.
September 9, 2008 at 20:33 #180230Someone has downloaded Duffy’s album for me, and I really like a couple of the tracks lyrically, but have a feeling her voice may start to grate if I listen to it too much?
September 9, 2008 at 22:17 #180257I’m currently listening to She & Him. They’re brill. "Brill"! How 90s!

Were you at Oxegen batman? What a festival. MGMT (time to pretend) was like one of the theme tunes at Oxegen, they were always playing it between acts, good album.
One band which I missed at Oxegen but saw at V was the Kings Of Leon, they were absolutely incredible and have been listening loads to them since. Read today in the Sun that Kings of Leon have a new album out 22nd September, and the Sun (not the most reliable source granted) reckon that its going to establish them as a great band, here and the US. They also reckon that sex On fire is due to be their first Number One. if so I’m going to have to try and get tickets to see them again before the price goes mental.
Have been really getting into radiohead’s Fake Plastic Trees tunes lately aswell, what a tune.

They are correct;

Even a concerted effort by those gentle souls from the Cliff Richard Fan Club couldn’t stop the Followill siblings from recording not only a first UK top 10 hit (the likes of “The Bucket” and “Fans” had stopped just short previously), but a first number one.

September 15, 2008 at 10:06 #181053The Kings beating Cliff truly is a result for music itself Graysons.
Trying to get tickets for the Belfast leg of their UK Tour which are only a very reasonable £30, my mate’s just got tickets for Newcastle but will ber back in Northern Ireland for that one. Theyve got one of those sounds that is awesome live- The Bucket, Molly Chambers, Fans, On Call, Charmer, Sex On Fire, Knocked Up, McFearless etc were all brilliant but think they played a fair few good tunes at V which I hadnt heard before, so am getting that new album soon as. They went right from a band I like to a band I absolutely Iove at V.
