My ew 2..
Quick Wave 25s AP
The Galloping Bear. 5 places.December 27, 2022 at 14:50 #1628465My favourite race of Christmas every year.
If this was Neil’s handicap competition, I’d go Win Fortescue, e/w Regina Dracones. After having seriously considered nearly all of them.
I like Wayfinder and can see that one run a big race. But the real question is whether The Big Dog can lug that big weight round, and if he can, then he’s a danger.
December 27, 2022 at 15:00 #1628467wd Peter H. wd winners.
December 27, 2022 at 15:02 #1628468WD winners. Featherlight weight in those conditions.
Ground went as Soft as i thought earlier in the day. How the hell the Clerk of course on SSP, just before midday, thought it would still ride good to soft flock only knows!
December 27, 2022 at 15:03 #1628469Another Welsh National winner than won’t get in at Aintree in April.
December 27, 2022 at 15:25 #1628474Nice work, Peter. Well done.
December 27, 2022 at 16:01 #1628481Well done Peter, plucky little horse to hold on
December 27, 2022 at 16:48 #1628487How I’ve not ended up on him I don’t know. I love previous form in races like that and 16’s was an insult.
Love the race and when it’s run in conditions like that it’s picture perfect national hunt racing.
December 27, 2022 at 17:03 #1628491Well played Peter
December 27, 2022 at 18:12 #1628502Monster of a run from both the big dog and the big breakaway with all that weight, can see both running well at Aintree if taking to the fences
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
December 27, 2022 at 19:34 #1628519Thank you all. I must confess watching them jump the second last just brought so many memories of Silver By Nature, Giles Cross, Tidal Bay, Benvolio (that one still stings), Houblon Des Obeaux, Alfie Spinner (also stings) and Yala Enki who all failed to just get home for me in recent years.
This is my first ever Welsh National winner after all those close calls, so it’s an extra special result for me today!
December 28, 2022 at 00:58 #1628535Congrats Peter! Truly a well earned winner after that list of near-misses!
