It is football country if you live in the Middle East, Africa, any country close to equator or in the tropics.
The clue is WORLD cup and not ENGLAND cup and as such it’s right that it should be played in all conditions. Not just ones that suit certain nations.
June 21, 2021 at 17:40 #1547174There’s hot and then there’s HOT, Robbo. They’ve been forced to change the time of the World Cup to November and December purely because of the temperature.

You hold it when the weather most suits. The first three Cricket WCs were held in England – June/July. The 4th was held in India/Pakistan but they didn’t play it in June/July but October/November. When held in the Caribbean they didn’t play it in the hurricane season of September/October but in March/April. I would have thought that bloody obvious.
March 26, 2022 at 17:29 #1589907Heaven forbid the players get tired running around in the heat.
Probably better served that over 6,000 die building the stadiums in the heat insteadBlackbeard to conquer the World
April 1, 2022 at 03:21 #1590565While delivering her address at the FIFA Congress held yesterday (31st March 2022) in Qatar, Norway’s FA President Lise Klaveness had the courage and will to openly criticize Qatar’s human rights abuses. What is most striking about this, is that Ms. Klaveness was not afraid to state her views right in the middle of Qatar’s “living room”!
“Well Done Norway”, indeed!
On a related note, why FIFA, and the rest of the free world, are ignoring the human rights atrocities committed by the Saudi-led coalition against Yemeni people since 2014? And, Qatar forms a part of this coalition. This is the epitome of hypocrisy!

I wonder if she’d have had the courage if Norway had qualified. If they were so against it why did they even enter?
Anyway, great draw for England, it’s coming home
