Look forward to hearing the tips from marb, KT and the mare

The chances of me backing more than one winner in a week is remote but here goes –
2:05 Doncaster — The ground may be too fast for Castle Howard and I like the chances of the only 3yo in the race called Dansant who ran well to finish 5th of 19 in a decent hcap at York last time. I’ve bet on him to win at 7/2.
2:40 Doncaster — I’m going against Septimus who is a good horse but I am not convinced that he will like the fast ground so my choice is Allegretto who has every chance if he stays and is from the Michael Stoute yard who are in great form. 7/2 looks fair value.
3:55 Sandown — Not a race to bet heavily on and it will not take much winning. Sky Quest has a great record at this course with 2 wins and 3 places from 6 runs. The trainer J Boyle often books a decent jockey when one of his horses has a chance so the booking of Kerin McEvoy may be significant. Only doubt is the step back in trip to a mile but looks worth an e/w bet at odds of about 12/1 on BF.

KT hopefully backed lots of winners in Singapore. Some more good racing tomorrow

Wel done SC, US and UM
So I gather my lot are still running?
We’re not allowed to bet here…………. so even if I was jumping on the Saimee bandwagon I couldn’t win
September 15, 2007 at 09:03 #115074Good luck Marb and I think Eddie Jock has a chance if reproducing his ascot run. I fancy the chances of The Illies in that race but he needs a strong pace and may not get it so I’m not going to take 7/4 about him.
My four for today which will probably all finish last are –
2:40 Doncaster — 22 runner sprint hcaps are not the easiesr to pick a winner from but I like the chances of Lipocco who looks to be an improving 3yo and will love the fast ground and is well drawn. Backed him e/way.
2:25 Goodwood — Minority Report is favorite and likes Goodwood but has been a bit disappointing this season and is not getting any younger. This race should be run at a decent pace which wil suit Presumptive who ran well last time at Ascot and will like the fast ground if they have not over watered. Only problem is that he is not drawn well. Still I’ve bet on him e/way at 8’s.
3:25 Chester — Book of Music is favorite but I think his run at Nad Al Sheba flattered him and he disappointed last time out. Mark Johnston’s horses are running well now so Lina’s Selection will hopefully be fit enough to win this and can go well fresh.
5:45 Goodwood — Escape Route could win this if handling the stalls better than in the past and if staying the 9 furlong trip. Ebert is a frustrating horse – always looks if he is going to win but rarely does. One win in 12 starts tells it’s own story. Has Frankie in the saddle today so maybe he’ll manage to get the best out of him. I’m going e/way on Mesbaah who ran well last time out and has been lightly raced this season which can be an advantage at this time of year in my opinion. Should like the step up in trip.
Good luck to KT with her Ante post Leger bet.
September 15, 2007 at 09:08 #115075I’ve just taken some of them massive prices on Betfair for Eddie [which indicates he’s no chance] but will hope to lay it off at shorter and get a free saver. Kingston let me know how you got on with regards to the ledger, i’ve got everything crossed for you!
Thanks Marb and Swallow Cottage! Fingers and toes crossed it bolts in by 10 lengths so I don’t have to worry about close finishes and race callers getting it wrong on the radio

It’s not on until 10.15pm – this could be way past my bedtime……. I may have to set the alarm.
September 15, 2007 at 12:35 #115107Good luck to everyone with their bets today – catch up later
September 15, 2007 at 14:40 #115139
… 4th I think I lost 7.50 in the end ……… if the Scott can add up properly
.
September 15, 2007 at 15:43 #115156Ah it ran a game race and you was justified in the end, I hope all this malarkey did’nt dampen your enthusiasm for the race.

Oh no Marb, I loved it, it was all great fun!
September 15, 2007 at 17:04 #115165bad luck SC with Presumptive – just got caught – expect you did it e.w. and good luck with your £25 bet!!…lucky you.

Marb, I thought Eddie Jock had it won for a time – he ran well enough. Strange seeing Richard Hughes out in front
be interesting to see where he goes now as you say. As long as you’re happy
September 16, 2007 at 10:41 #115223Yes Mare I did Presumptive e/w and he was only beaten by a nose but I had a winner last week who only just won by a nose so I can’t complain – that’s racing. My other selections were rubbish. I am awaiting your next tip so I can use my free £25 bet

Wonder if Eddie Jock will go to Ascot next as he likes it there ?
5:30 Goodwood — I am going to be an optimist and have an e/way bet on Art Modern who has not run well lately but soft ground has been against him in his last 2 runs and he is now 7lb lower in the hcap than when he finished 4th on fast ground at Newbury in April. Got 14’s on BF.

…not to be recommended SC, I’ve taken up laying
…but seeing as it’s you, I’ll see what I can do *wink*…
my spies report that *$3^*$£(&^%% will win the Ayr Gold Cup, so best get in quick..
