I’ve got roll of honour back up in competitions is it possible to make it a ‘sticky’ Corm?
I think the site will be fine. Give it time. I remember the last change over and it was terrible but I’m sure things can be ironed out and improved.
PM facility missing.

February 27, 2015 at 10:21 #757531Regarding colour and the obsession most websites have with brilliant-white slab: users of Firefox/Pale Moon (far and away the best browsers IMO) can download an add-on called ‘Color That Site’
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/color-that-site/
Takes a bit of trial and error but is damn good
I already have the background to this intern-designed effort in grey and the Header text in a now-readable maroon. May change the latter to blue-black, as this on grey is what retinas love and eye surgeons hate
Zooming to 125% renders the Menu and Thread text readable but makes the Headers too big: the former two should be made larger, and emboldened, as the default setting
Yep, there’s no Quote facility I can locate
There also doesn’t appear to be a ‘preview’ option before submitting a post
As the ‘Horse Racing’ forum is responsible for about 75% of traffic it should be where it always was: at the top on its own, not as an alphabetically ordered sub-forum under Racing Discussion
February 27, 2015 at 10:36 #757929On a positive note, the site is – at present – very fast and the uncluttered, relatively minimalist design is welcome

February 27, 2015 at 11:03 #758097Certainly lots of room for improvement.

February 27, 2015 at 11:14 #758155Not a massive issue but I quite liked seeing the ‘members on line’ which is now gone.

February 27, 2015 at 11:39 #758273You cannot edit posts after a about minute.
February 27, 2015 at 11:44 #758320The option to jump to a different part of the forum from the drop down menu at the bottom of the page has disappeared. Jump to first unread post button also gone. PM facility and quote facility missing.
I agree with Drone that the old menu layout was better, with Horse Racing at the top, rather than under the Racing Discussion header.
On the plus side, the site seems very fast.
February 27, 2015 at 11:47 #758350Look I genuinly wish the site all the best, haven’t been a contributer, but read the forum most days, not anymore sorry to say, within 2 minutes my eyes are sore, the font, colours and layout are absolutely woeful.
I’m not being ill willed, genuinely wish the lads well, but you’re not going to attract people but rather drive people away, I’m really, really sorry to say.
February 27, 2015 at 13:00 #758896Nightmare logging in. I seem to have been allocated a new username, my old one was Kenh which seems to have dissapeared. Tried to log in with that and didn’t work. Found an email in my spam folder which gave me a new password but was addressed to over sticks. How do I get my old username back ?
February 27, 2015 at 13:04 #758912I am trying to start a new discussion on the quality of TV racing commentaries and can’t work out how to do it. Can you advise?
ThanksFebruary 27, 2015 at 13:05 #758913If anyone is struggling with the font, simply hold CTRL and press the + key and it will zoom in. Similarly the – key will zoom out. This works for Mozilla browsers but should also work for others. Your browser should remember the font sizes for individual websites. You can reset to the default by CTRL and 0 ( that’s a zero )
CTRL and Z will undo a delete, so if you posted 50 lines on the Arkle and it suddenly disappears, CTRL Z will restore it.
February 27, 2015 at 13:13 #758945RCPowell – go to the Horse Racing forum, scroll down and there’s a facility to enter the thread title, write the post and then submit it.
Not being able to quote people or go directly to the most recent post is a terrible lack of foresight, in my opinion.
Absolutely essential on a discussion board.February 27, 2015 at 13:16 #758950Scroll-down to the bottom of the page:
“Create New Topic in “Horse Racing”
Topic Title (Maximum Length: 80):”
February 27, 2015 at 13:18 #758951Where’s the emoticon gone for Cry. Does this forum now let you ******* swear because there’s been a lot of it going on in the last 10 minutes.
February 27, 2015 at 13:19 #758967Oh yes it does.
February 27, 2015 at 13:35 #759058I am not sure yet but I have a feeling I am no longer stevecaution. I expect that I am now sweetjebus, which is probably appropriate given the problems but I don’t know for sure because the site no longer tells me who I am and is still prompting me to login.
I can only echo the previous gripes here regarding the new look and the teething problems. It’s early days but it’s not a great start that I needed a password reset and am probably going to see a username that I tried to set up with before using stevecaution and after having had several other names fail to register.
If you can get some of the basics sorted out it might be more user friendly but for now it seems a lot more work than it used to be and it has to be a big thumbs down. Sorry but that’s my feeling for now.
