He’d walk the Champion Chase but Nicky already has the winner of that in Jonbon.

“Never mind the Arkle, go for the champion chase, he would be favourite”

Megan Nicholls just said pretty much the same thing on RTV. If the yard didn’t have Jonbon, Sir Gino would make a more than capable deputy.

I thought he spent too much time in the air today and would give him another run before the Arkle if he were mine.

    Ok guys.
I did the Sir Gino (Arkle) and Constitution Hill (Champ hurdle) double a few weeks back, 9/1 and 9/2.

365 are offering me a big cash out right now.

Do i cash out now or run with the bet?
    Thoughts?

    Never cash out.

    a) The odds are always poor
    b) stick to your original beliefs

    Cheers Glad.
But the cash out is a tidy sum.
    Hmm…..

Depends how much you need the money, I suppose. 🤷‍♂️

Not desperate, if truth be told, but they have just increased it, as well

Edit: they’ve just ‘withdrawn’ it. Do they know something we dont?

That was imperious! It bore an uncanny resemblance to when Sprinter Sacre destroyed Peddlers Cross in this race back in 2011.

    I’m excited.

Sir Gino was very good, especially since Nico kept asking him for huge leaps which is hard going for a first run over fences.
But I don’t think Ballyburn was underwhelming. Looks like a fast right handed track doesn’t suit and giving 6lb too, not that it mattered hugely and the best horse on the day won, but I wouldn’t tear up any slips I don’t think. Townend didn’t lose the head trying to win and will have plenty of horse left for another day.

Not sure id be screaming about the champion chase, but a run vs majbrough in the arkle would be nice viewing

Ballyburn certainly is no mug and i doubt it was just the trip that was the problem there sir g just too good

Wilts, I’m on the same and have a mix of doubles and trebles.

I’m not cashing out but I do have a larger single stake on Constitution Hill at 9/2

I said on here a few weeks back that with a little luck, Sir Gino – Arkle and CH – Champion Hurdle could end up the bet of Cheltenham.

I wouldn’t cash out fully anyway, Wilts.
Might be better to use Betfair for a saver. So you break even if your double does not work out and win plenty if it still comes in. By laying them individually.

    Cashed out.
It’s a long 10 weeks or so until Cheltenham, and when the money’s put in front of me, i’ve often grabbed it whilst it’s ‘ on the table’.

Good luck to others on here, who have the same bet :good:

4 out of 5 of Ballyburn’s full relations are all 3m winners and his full brother Minella Daddy even won over 3m4f.

So 2m round Kempton was never going to be his bag especially against a horse that was seriously considered as a deputy for Constitution Hill in the Champion Hurdle, don’t forget that 4 of Ballyburn’s last 5 runs have also been over trips ranging from 2m3f to 2m5f.

Connections I believe actually see him long term as a potential Gold Cup horse – that he went with SG for as long as he did over an inadequate trip tells you that he is a class horse.

He was very good for a debut but Champion Chase? You’ve literally got one horse to measure him against today and hes a very good horse Ballyburn but probably not a 2m horse. And thats it. So much hyperbole in racing over so very little evidence.
