Although Boynton will probably go off fav, I am pretty sure that War Decree will turn that form around.
It was a strange race last time with the horse being green an issue on War Decrees side. War Decree actually hit the front pretty easily, got a knock and then hung a little and when Ryan whipped him he sort of stopped. I think Goodwood will suit War Decree more, he should have a better position this time and should be much sharper.
July 25, 2016 at 14:27 #1257454War Decree is generally favourite here and I am sure he will go off favourite.
Boynton has to concede 3lbs this time and you would be more confident of War Decree improving from their last meeting.
Godolphin continue to have promising 2yo winners who don’t seem to find the expected improvement next time out.
I was on both horses last time, as Boynton at 10/1 and War Decree at 9/2 both appealed. This time I felt War Decree was the call when both horses opened at 5/2 but he’s just a bit short now in my opinion and I wouldn’t take less than 2/1.
Boynton is a talented sort but I just don’t feel I can trust Godolphin to have him spot on again here and defy the penalty.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
July 25, 2016 at 21:01 #1257492Do we think WAR DECREE is better than CHURCHILL???
If not then surely ISOMER has to come into the thinking in this!!
I think at 12/1 he could be the value each way bet in this!!
July 25, 2016 at 21:12 #1257498At this stage I think War Decree is possibly sharper than Churchill.
War Fronts tend to do well at 2 and I expect War Decree to win tomorrowGaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026

War Decree is 1 lb higher on official ratings than Churchill, with 110 to 109. The Racing Post make it 112 to 106 in War Decree’s favour and I feel that, as it stands, that gap is probably more realistic.
Churchill is a horse for next season and I think some assessors get carried away and try to push the rating ahead of schedule.

I am with you Raymo, I think Isomer will go well. I think it is fair to say that a line through Cunco gives him something to find but I am not sure that one ran his race that day so Isomer has to be decent ew value.

July 25, 2016 at 23:13 #1257522Can’t see any reason why Boynton can’t win again. Seems a very tough horse.
July 26, 2016 at 14:31 #1257595I am another supporter for Isomer here. I am more than a little surprised that he’s drifted a shade, as I thought the opposite would be the case, but at 12-1 I think he has a real chance of filling a place.
There is not that much between the faves, but I would slightly favour Boynton.July 26, 2016 at 14:38 #1257596Thank You…Goodnight!
July 26, 2016 at 14:43 #1257597I don’t think the bump made much of a difference with my Isomer, and I thought I would see a little bit more today and no excuses I’m sorry to say. Nice winner though and well done Goreisking and Nathan.
July 26, 2016 at 14:47 #125759820/1 WD way too big for Guineas. Looked today like he wanted a mile already
July 26, 2016 at 14:48 #1257599Straightforward for War Decree and the early 5/2 on him was what I felt was the value.
I suspect the assessors in Ireland need to revisit their figures that show Churchill just a 1 lb behind War Decree.
I can’t get enthused about the strength of Churchill’s form thus far and he has a bit to find with some of his stablemates at this stage.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
July 26, 2016 at 14:52 #1257600Churchill would hammer him very easily, Churchill is the number 1 stallion prospect at Coolmore. War front colts don’t really train on either.
I hope I lose soon because I am building up some fearless confidence! End up putting silly amounts on a 6/1 shot and get burnt!
5/2 was excellent price!

Graham Cunningham was saying that Isomer was badly hampered but I don’t think it was much.
The other horse was badly impeded but Isomer escaped the worst of it and it would be a mistake to say it cost him the race.
I feel that Churchill is getting more credit than he is due because he is such a good long term prospect and the actual form hasn’t looked that strong. Cunco is just a bit short of top class and was more of a buzz horse because he was/is Frankel’s first progeny.
People seem to forget that Gleneagles went into the winter as 14/1 for the Guineas and it wasn’t until early the following year that the vibes suggested that he was the “One” of Aidan’s strong looking team.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
July 26, 2016 at 15:08 #1257603Churchill would hammer him very easily
For the moment War Decree is at least 7lbs better than Churchill. That is why he is running in Group 2 races and Churchill is at group 3 level for now. Churchill made heavy enough weather last time out and his Chesham win was over inferior opposition.
I wouldn’t back War Decree for the Guineas, we have seen enough War Fronts fail to repeat the form at 3yo.

If them two meet now Churchill would hammer him!!
July 26, 2016 at 15:28 #1257610I’m not up on the Flat stuff…which prominent War Fronts haven’t trained on?
