I was surprised there wasn’t a thread up about this one but perhaps it gets missed in the Chester action this week.
Open handicap as always, loads of old favourites in here.
My eye was drawn to Arabian Storm and Streets Of Gold amongst others, they appealed most at the prices at 14s and 18s respectively.
Best of luck if you decide to get involved in this 20+ runner cavalry charge up the Ascot straight, the first of many this season
May 11, 2024 at 09:00 #1693821Ramazan looks interesting, was impressive at Ayr and Redcar last season. Considering an e/w punt. Was also looking at Arabian Storm who was 6l behind Mostabshir on return after a long lay off, still lightly raced. Oisin Murphy was on board at Kempton so guess I can look at that as a positive. Torn between these two, don’t know how to split them.

May 11, 2024 at 11:04 #1693843I have chanced Arabian Storm, but with several negatives: it’s not a combination I like (the stable had a few winners yesterday, but two were running for the bookmakers, one ended up a coin toss, and the favourite was disappointing off an easy lead in the Chester Cup); on breeding you would think the horse would want a mile and he has already been disappointing on more than one occasion. Hard to believe he can be as shockingly poor as his half sister was last week. It’s the pedigree and the fact that he is lightly raced that stands out today, but that might end up meaning not very much.
May 11, 2024 at 11:42 #1693854Going with the unexposed Mostabshir.
The more I know the less I understand.

May 11, 2024 at 12:09 #1693861Mustajaab is my main fancy in this at 25-1 ew, but I can’t leave Hickory alone either, and I’ve taken the 8-1
May 11, 2024 at 12:50 #1693875Popmaster ran well in a group 3 over 6f on re-appearance, was a close 2nd over c+d hen last here and will appreciate the drying ground. Not seen enough of Brandon Wilkie (5lb claim) to have an opinion so if I think he doesn’t do the horse justice then, well, it’s my fault.
10/1

May 11, 2024 at 14:47 #1693908What was De Sousa doing. Shocking ride. I picked horse coz he was drawn high yet jock goes opposite direction.
May 11, 2024 at 19:37 #1693972Doubt many will stand Arabian Storm again. Smashed up late as well. Looked as if he struggled to even get 6 furlongs and Murphy soon waved the white flag. Hard to emulate the dam, but it’s turning into a family that flatters to deceive.
