Remembered this from the old Raceform Handicap Book’s Sports Forum Page.

This chaps ratings were based on a combination of Form and Speed Ratings.
If a runner was 20 pts clear of the 2nd Rated then the minimum price would be Even money.

The mark of 20 is purely arbitrary and one might want to chose say 10 as the minimum price with a runner 5 pts clear of the 2nd rated would require a minimum odds of 2 to 1.

The Rating method I’m going to us is based on winning/consistent form using a simple Spreadsheet.
