This year the bookies didn’t get one Valentine’s Day. They got 3.
On Monday they were able to shorten up 5 of the top 9 in the betting for the Supreme as they anticipated the Pricewise selection(s). As of yet, the 4 that were incorrect have either been shortened up yet further or stayed the same. None have been pushed out.
Yesterday they were able to shorten up Vulcanite even further and shortened up Midnight Game due to them being Pricewise.
Today, Galileo’s Choice and Simonsig won at combined odds of 4/9, yet the former trades 3 points shorter than he was this morning and the latter at 2 points shorter. So that’s 8 horses in the top 9 in the betting for the Supreme that they managed to shorten up in 3 days.
And then, just for good measure, Quito de la Roque & Last Instalment have been ruled out of the Festival, Dabirism’s been ruled out of the Guineas, Cue Card’s had a setback & Simonsig now looks very likely to miss the race that people have absolutely lumped on him for.
Somebody must really love those bookies.
