Reportedly the first time such a thing has ever happen on a UK racecourse but at Brighton on Tuesday evening a three-way photo finish to the 7:10 race involved two horses and seagull – and, here’s the proof …

One or two racegoers did comment that the fast finishing seagull (who literally flew the final furlong) was unlucky not to get second place.
July 10, 2014 at 16:03 #485156There was a poster on here a few years back called Seagull and he came from Brighton.
He had a friend an old man that feeds off the crumbs the seagulls leave behind now aswell.Gaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
July 10, 2014 at 16:10 #485158From my exclusive camera footage, taken from a different angle, you can just see Jamie Spencer releasing the Seagull from a box, just a second or two later than he was told by the Seagull’s owner

C’est la vie, a winner without a penalty for next time.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
July 10, 2014 at 16:11 #485159Surprised they needed a photo finish. There’s half a length in the 2 horses
Mind you better to see a seagull than some eejit running on like at Leicester the other week
July 11, 2014 at 10:36 #485204It’s amazing what they said about the following race won by Byrd in Hand followed by Hawk Moth [with Abigails Angel also in the same race]. Now, that’s the sort of good publicity that racing needs.
