I’m solidly with Morning Assembly at the moment but I’ll probably dip another toe in the water tomorrow – possibly Out Sam or Carole’s Destrier.

It’s all about Holywell for me too. He’s still very well handicapped on any of his Cheltenham form. His Ultima win (clear with well-treated Ma Filleule, ahead of Kim Muir winner The Package) gives him a great chance. Not to mention the Gold Cup run!

Many of the novices could get involved with a clear round. Out Sam is not the most straightforward horse, so I wouldn’t be confident of a fluent display from him. I liked Kruzhlinin at first given the ex-McCain angle, but he’s up to a mark that he struggled on even at the best of times for that yard.

As much as I dislike The Young Master in general, he does have good claims on 149. Ballykan was a big eyecatcher in the Racing Post Chase and I could see him getting involved if he can sharpen up his fitness and jumping.

I like Caroles Destrier. His win last time at Sandown impressed me,travelled a dream and jumped well and was giving tonnes of weight away to any of the horses near him. Has been put away since that run and had a wind op so they must’ve felt he had a bit of trouble in the finish at Sandown and if true and the op has worked any good he could still have plenty in hand as i felt he won cosily enough there and has only gone up 5lb. Trainer knows what it takes to win it and hoping for a nice run.

Shouting the house down there for Holywell, he’s just a different horse round here in March. Chuffed to bits with him……..again.

Smashing shout from Cheltman & Aaron,

I’m loving this year, it never fails to get me on the edge of my seat.
Well done Aaron and Cheltman, an inspired pick.

Hard luck Bobby, you’re in the same boat as me settling for a place. I’m
happy enough with that, The Young Master ran as good a race as he could,
he just couldn’t go with the front two.

    Onwards and upwards :good:
