I found this article while searching Google.
http://www.ors-racing.co.uk/Beast/WeakestLink.html
It seems being a commentator is not the nicest thing in the world with threats of contracts being torn up and commentators been put on 6 month test.
As this article seems to relate to last year have things changed and to be honest is it worth it for such t&c’s they must get a good fee for it.
I had a feeling RUK would get upperty about ATR presenters being commentators but then again if RUK don’t have many potential commentators on their books then it’s one of those things surely?
Why should an ATR presenters lose out for having a second job?
September 11, 2013 at 16:42 #450894The article was written last year when the ridiculous review was implemented (I wrote it).
There has been no change, as far as I’m aware, to the contractual procedures and all the commentators are effectively self-employed and have rolling contracts with Racetech.
The issue was more than discussed on this forum at the time.

Moderator can lock this thread now as it has been discussed before.
September 12, 2013 at 12:24 #450976A rather dismissive reply Paul, verging on rude I would say.
Not a great incentive to other, less regular, contributors on here to become more involved when a subject someone has found of interest is brushed aside with a ‘been there done that’ response.
September 12, 2013 at 12:52 #450979It wasn’t meant to be dismissive at all – if it came across that way I apologise.
I was simply stating it had been discussed in detail at the time.
