“What a daft idea for TRF.
Just what I like…”This, from GT, pleases me no end.
It’s the ultimate endorsement.
And entirely accurate.
Great to see it maintaining its momentum.

January 20, 2024 at 18:18 #1677977With 7 contestants I think I will close this.
Ian, Cork, Ginger, Ex Ruby and Richard managed just 4 correct.
Nathan and Homer drew on 6 apiece so going to think of 4 more for a tie breaker like Ian did.

1 I once went to see Roy Chubby Brown perform at Blackpool Winter Garden. FALSE
He was playing the week before so never actually saw him.
2 I met Dennis Taylor and got his autograph on a book about Ray Reardon. TRUE
Got into snooker through Pot Black, then a few years later joined a local snooker club owned by Bernard Mannings Son. Brought a book on snooker to try and improve by Ray Reardon. When Dennis won the snooker world champion this snooker club was on his tour, so watched him and got his autograph. He’s a real gentleman.
3 Yarmouth was the first racetrack I’d visited. TRUE
On holiday as a child, we went to Great Yarmouth. We went to the racetrack, yes the was racing on but remember the track being very long, so didn’t see who actually won.
4 Being a blood donor I know my blood group is AB+. FALSE
Sorry about this question, bit lame but I’m actually A+.
5 I met Claudia Winkleman at a works do. TRUE
She was presenting the ceremony on my 25th celebration where I’d work.
6 I once went to the city of New York. FALSE
7 I also been to Niagara Falls. TRUE
These 2 are linked. In 1993 went to Toronto and Niagara Falls one of those deals in a paper, Mail I think. Flew from Gatwick. Did go into New York state, but not the city.
8 I was confident in Beech Road winning the 1989 Champion Hurdle that I’d backed it win only. FALSE
It had beaten a more fancied runner, but no I had it EW sorry Ian

9 I did see Red Rum live. TRUE
I did back him in 1977 50p EW through my Dad, but it was a trip organized by a person at work to the 1989 Grand National that I saw him, parading.
10 My first visit to a Greyhound meeting was at Bellue Vue. FALSE
Yarmouth also had a greyhound track so that was my first.

1 Where I live the was a dinosaur exhibition, it was there I saw a T-Rex. FALSE
It was just before lockdown (Feb 2020) and it was Dippy The Dinosaur, a Diplodocus who arrived at my town. Probably stayed longer than expected.
2 On a day trip to London (organized by School) stood outside 10 Downing Street. TRUE
My school in 1977 organized a trip by train to London, went with family on a reduced fair to Euston Station. Went sightseeing and one sight was 10 Downing Street, the street was smaller than I expected.
3 I did own part of a racehorse trained by Jack Berry. FALSE
It was actually a neighbour/friend of the family who owned this 2 year old, sadly never made it on to the racecourse.
4 Did have a winning patent (all 3 winners) in the Cheltenham Festival on my first attempt. TRUE
In 1982 people I’d worked with was all saying Night Nurse would win the Gold Cup, I disagree and thought that SILVER BUCK would win.
Also had THE DRUNKARD DUCK and SCOTS LANE with it too as a patent. beginners luck.
With 2 answers each, I pass the baton to Nathan Hughes because he got his answers in first.
