Thanks Mark, but amazing how six people got eight answers right with different interpretations and going eight different patterns.

10,FALSEFebruary 10, 2024 at 09:40 #1680605OK, Mr Landafar, here goes….
1, Once upon a time, I went to Irkutsk in Siberia on a day trip.
Why not? TRUE2, The first horse I backed was Last Suspect in the Grand National in 1985.
TRUE – and extremely annoying as I bet West Tip 20/1 ante-post who was cantering when falling at Becher’s and won it off a higher mark the following year, the runner up win only at 25/1 and linked the duo in tricast combinations with Greasepaint and Corbiere (third and fourth). I was just getting over the flu and had a relapse! I hate Last Suspect!3, I like my gardening when I am home, I have grown a 13.5Kg pumpkin.
TRUE4, My Favourite Holiday resort is Bali.
TRUE5, Once upon a time, I beat the UK 8 Ball pool UK Champion in an exhibition match, his only shot was to break the pack, where upon I proceed to clear the table of my balls and then pot the 8 ball.
TRUE6, Working for a Basingstoke company (Nod to ID) I have travelled more than 2 million miles by air in the last 20 years.
FALSE7, I have been unlucky enough to have experienced the following first hand and known as a travel disruption magnet, Typhoon, Tornado, Hurricane and an Earthquake.
FALSE8, I had two winners in the same race (not after an amended result). FALSE
9, In December 1979 I went to see Thin Lizzy, after Brian Robertson left the band, there were two replacement guys on the Guitars, Midge Ure and Paul Cook.
I saw Thin Lizzy at Coventry Apollo circa 1983. Big Irish community in the city and great atmosphere at the gig. Anyway, FALSE.10, Im a effectively Rabbit that can read and write.
While I’m open to the idea you might think you’re one of our floppy-eared friends, I think it highly unlikely in overrated reality. FALSEI am "The Horse Racing Punter" on Facebook

2, The first horse I backed was Last Suspect in the Grand National in 1985. FALSE (Though I have my doubts)
3, I like my gardening when I am home, I have grown a 13.5Kg pumpkin. FALSE (I think you can grow much bigger ones at home)
4, My Favourite Holiday resort is Bali. FALSE (I guess you’ve seen a lot more places than most of us)
5, Once upon a time, I beat the UK 8 Ball pool UK Champion in an exhibition match, his only shot was to break the pack, where upon I proceed to clear the table of my balls and then pot the 8 ball. TRUE

7, I have been unlucky enough to have experienced the following first hand and known as a travel disruption magnet, Typhoon, Tornado, Hurricane and a Earthquake. TRUE (I think you travel a lot landafar and if I have one and six true the same should apply to seven as well.)
8, I had two winners in the same race (not after an amended result). FALSE
9, In December 1979 I went to see Thin Lizzy, after Brian Robertson left the band, there were two replacement guys on the Guitars, Midge Ure and Paul Cook. TRUE
10, Im a effectively Rabbit that can read and write. FALSE
February 11, 2024 at 00:07 #1680789I believe you are very well-travelled Landafar, though that doesn’t help a huge amount with my answers…
1, Once upon a time, I went to Irkutsk in Siberia on a day trip.
TRUE
2, The first horse I backed was Last Suspect in the Grand National in 1985.
FALSE, using some contorted logic – I think question 10 about Thin Lizzy is true, and reckon someone watching them in 1979 would probably have placed a bet before 1985.
3, I like my gardening when I am home, I have grown a 13.5Kg pumpkin.
FALSE, not convinced you are ever there long enough to tend a giant pumpkin.
4, My Favourite Holiday resort is Bali.
FALSE, it’s Basingstoke as you are always working abroad.
5, Once upon a time, I beat the UK 8 Ball pool UK Champion in an exhibition match, his only shot was to break the pack, where upon I proceed to clear the table of my balls and then pot the 8 ball.
FALSE
6, Working for a Basingstoke company (Nod to ID) I have travelled more than 2 million miles by air in the last 20 years.
FALSE, really struggling with this one. I believe the air miles, but could Basingstoke being Ian’s location have inspired you to add this as a false detail? Hmmm.
7, I have been unlucky enough to have experienced the following first hand and known as a travel disruption magnet, Typhoon, Tornado, Hurricane and a Earthquake.
TRUE
8, I had two winners in the same race (not after an amended result).
TRUE
9, In December 1979 I went to see Thin Lizzy, after Brian Robertson left the band, there were two replacement guys on the Guitars, Midge Ure and Paul Cook.
TRUE
10, Im a effectively Rabbit that can read and write.
I have absolutely no idea what this might mean, but let’s go with TRUE.
Great questions Landafar

Anyway you want me
Long as you love me, it’s all right !I can’t do a quizz
Leave it to the litterati.
An enjoyable read nonetheless and helps me forget the limitations of a straightjacket !
February 11, 2024 at 11:50 #1680828Another good set of questions!
1, Once upon a time, I went to Irkutsk in Siberia on a day trip.
Quite possible, there is an airport and it could have been for work or for the hell of it. TRUE2, The first horse I backed was Last Suspect in the Grand National in 1985.
There wasn’t much to advertise Last Suspect’s claims. FALSE3, I like my gardening when I am home, I have grown a 13.5Kg pumpkin.
There’s a few gardeners on TRF, but they all have moe time than you. Maybe your partner has. FALSE4, My Favourite Holiday resort is Bali.
You’ve seen the World, probably found somewhere better. FALSE5, Once upon a time, I beat the UK 8 Ball pool UK Champion in an exhibition match, his only shot was to break the pack, where upon I proceed to clear the table of my balls and then pot the 8 ball.
Sounds plausible… but am struggling with this one, I want to say false but have none left so,,,.
TRUE6, Working for a Basingstoke company (Nod to ID) I have travelled more than 2 million miles by air in the last 20 years.
Global Solutions Ltd? TRUE7, I have been unlucky enough to have experienced the following first hand and known as a travel disruption magnet, Typhoon, Tornado, Hurricane and a Earthquake.
Be some coincidence to actually be there when ALL these events actually happened. Possibly there tin a work capacity in the aftermath. To bring about solutions to problems. So “experienced” them actually happening? FALSE8, I had two winners in the same race (not after an amended result).
I once backed two winners in the same race too. Nedawi and Rabah 1998 Gordon Stakes.
TRUE9, In December 1979 I went to see Thin Lizzy, after Brian Robertson left the band, there were two replacement guys on the Guitars, Midge Ure and Paul Cook.
You may have gone to see “The Greedies” (The Greedy Bastards) or if it was Thin Lizzy, yes Paul Cook but not Midge Ure, possibly his Band Aid colleague Bob Geldof instead who has appeared with Thin Lizzy so…
FALSE10, Im a effectively Rabbit that can read and write.
So obscure it must be

February 14, 2024 at 21:07 #1681094The answers:
With all due respect to everyone, I have tried by utmost to confuse and give enough information for you good people to make educated guesses. My apologies if, my grammar is confusing.1, August 2013, the flight from London Heathrow to Beijing was diverted to Irkutsk for 24 hours due to a problem with the 747-navigation system and the Chinese would not allow us into their airspace. To be fair to the Russians, they allowed the passengers of the plane and put us all in a nice hotel for 24 hours. The weather was great a stunning 24C in summer. True and a nice experience I did intend to return one day. TRUE
2, Was out for a beer with a friend and he suggested that we pop to another pub. As we passed the turf accountant my friend said he wanted to have a bet on the national. I accompanied him inside and had no idea what I was looking at, so picked a horse by the name. The name that appealed to me most was Last Suspect @66/1. Beginners luck. TRUE
3, My best is 3Kg, my dear wife does not understand the need to water plants when I am away. FALSE
4, I have been to Bali for a short break, but was appalled by the tourism culture. Someone asking for 10USD to hold a 2M Python with its mouth tied up with electrical insulation tape, is not what I would call paradise. I prefer to stay home for holidays, and that’s not Basingstoke. FALSE
5, I played competitive pool for many years and did beat Jason twice in a row that evening. Quote from Jason ‘’That’s the only time ever in the first frame of an exhibition that anyone has whitewashed me’’. Jason Twist two-time World UK 8 ball pool champion 2000 and 2002 (please note in the question, UK). Who passed last year. RIP Jason TRUE
6, Its 1,042,437, which equates to approximately 2,500 hours sat in the cheap seats. I use flight stats website to keep a record, which tells me I have taken 539 flights and visited 107 different airports. FALSE
7, Earthquake: Chengdu China April 2013 6.6 magnitude, epicentre was 130KM away. Typhoon: Hong Kong X 2 and South Korea. Tornado: June 2006 Lima Ohio. Hurricane No. FALSE
8, I did a win and each way bet and it was a dead heat (Hong Kong racing watched on TV during covid). TRUE
9, Paul Cook was the Pistols drummer and Steve Jones from the Pistols played guitar that night with Midge Ure as Brian Robertson departed around August 79 prior to their headlining slot at the Reading Rock Festival. The ever-reliable Scott Gorham was present along with Phil Lynott and Brian Downey. So, a bit of a twist to the question where Paul Cook was mentioned as guitarist. This was a Thin Lizzy gig was at Stafford Bingley Hall December 18th 1979. FALSE
10, Under the Chinese Zodiac I was born a Rabbit, whilst its debatable if I can read and right the answer is. TRUE

February 14, 2024 at 21:11 #1681096Tie Breaker:
Six questions, 3 false and 3 true.
Tie Breaker:
1, I was selected to go on stage at a Blue Man Group show, (fantastic Show btw) and had a micro camera inserted into my mouth. The camera images from my mouth were switched to a prerecorded video shown on a big screen to the audience. Showing someone’s throat and stomach contents.
