Coral 4s just now so took some of that.
January 29, 2022 at 13:06 #1580390The DRF race next week should tell us who else is very good.
January 29, 2022 at 13:08 #1580391Iceos not a good yardstick? He beat a 110 horse 17 lengths giving him weight, probably about a 125-130 performance lto, pied pipers just laughed at that…. There was 7 previous winners in that field? That was about as good as the british have…
Given hes ran to 96 over the flat he should be capable of 140 over jumps, which he is clearly now
Im failing to see what your basing vaubans room for progression is but not pied pipers? Given that pied pipers just put up the best juvenile performance of the season
Coming here doesnt mean hes less favoured either, its probably because he lacked hurdles experience and this is the easiest way to give him it
So what are you basing vaubans expected progression off? Why would he turn it around?
So that performance was sub par, but the horse he beat (who is only 6/1 for this somehow and shortening into joint fav) will obviously be better? Lol what
January 29, 2022 at 13:11 #1580394Pied Piper deserves to be favourite at this stage. Russell didn’t move all the way round.
Over to the other Elliott horse and the 2 Mullins ones next week.
January 29, 2022 at 13:13 #1580395What price to win the Triumph and next years CH Ham??

January 29, 2022 at 13:13 #1580396Iceo has very clearly not run any kind of race ham
He pulled like an absolute lunatic
The reasons for Vauban reversing the form are very obvious given what happened when the two raced
With a half decent jump at the last vauban wouldve won, he almost won despite bungling it and having to switch
The course the triumph will be run on will suit him beautifully too
5/2 is a huge overreaction because of the visual impression but he’s beaten nothing
It looked like what it was a very good horse running against average ones and iceo ran no race
January 29, 2022 at 13:14 #1580397He jumped slickly and was never out of a canter. If you were not impressed with that, what would be considered impressive?!
January 29, 2022 at 13:15 #1580398Gordon Elliott on Pied Piper and Fil Dor:
“They both will likely run in the Triumph Hurdle. Pied Piper also has the option of the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle – I wouldn’t completely rule that out. At home I’d say Fil Dor is the better horse.”
January 29, 2022 at 13:16 #1580400Dysart Dynamo beat nothing last time as well and his price collapsed FF91. I don’t see the bookies having much choice really.
January 29, 2022 at 13:18 #1580401And don’t mistake what I’m saying as me not being impressed by the horse

Obviously I was
I’m not impressed with the 5/2
January 29, 2022 at 13:24 #1580404Vauban has shortened as well without running. Into 4s.
January 29, 2022 at 13:27 #1580405Vauban is 3/1 in places and top priced 5/1 FF… are you impressed with that? Who would you rather back right now pied piper at 3/1 or vauban at 6/1?
And ive no interest who shows what at home, thats the best juvenile performance this season so far, fil dor wount touch that kind of performance unless he find serious improvement, why would cheltenham suit vauban? This is such a flawed arguement, come back to me when he runs NTO lol maybe theyll be a point, as of now its jjst wishful thinking
No wonder he mentioned the supreme, it was that good.
And about 250/1 nath
January 29, 2022 at 13:30 #1580408I wouldnt back either of them ham as they arent any value at all
January 29, 2022 at 13:31 #1580410Can’t see them running him in the Supreme against the likes of Constitution Hill, Jonbon and Dysart Dynamo.
January 29, 2022 at 13:32 #1580411That was impressive, I think he was rated 86 on the Flat; one wonders why he was sold, and not transferred to Henderson who trains the Queen’s jumpers…
January 29, 2022 at 13:32 #1580412Ham i think if Vauban had jumped better, particularly the last he may well have won last time. Those who share that view would be encouraged by what Pied Piper did there.
January 30, 2022 at 13:31 #1580661The first 3 home were the back three early on and most of the race. I’m not knocking Pied Piper that was a faultless performance but those at the front cut each others throats.
Triumphs are typically run that way anyway and Davy Russell is a good judge of pace.Gaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
