Im on Vauban win only at 14s so really hope Iceo underperformed yesturday rather than Pied Piper being an absolute monster whos come on a ton for his race where he beat Vauban, either way, good for the Vauban form and he surely would have won LTO had he not made that mistake at the last, will be a fascinating watch next week! Hope they go Supreme with Pied Piper just in case it is a mega horse now lol.
January 31, 2022 at 23:49 #1580843Can’t work out why Fil Dor is 2/1 for Saturdays race (second favourite to Vauban who’s evens) yet Fil Dor is shorter in the market for the Triumph than the Mullins horse (3/1 compared to 4/1). Seems good value on the Elliot charge this weekend.
February 1, 2022 at 08:34 #1580856Im with you ben, theres a presupposition that vauban will improve as much as pied piper in his price for the weekend, its as if hes already done it, he hasnt, the prices are wrong fil dor should be the fav, 9/4? Ill have to back that and let vauban do it, couldnt be touching him at evs
February 1, 2022 at 12:19 #1580872Because fil dor isn’t certain to run this weekend youd have to assume
He likes a bit of cut which he won’t get unless they relentlessly water the incredibly well draining leopardstown
February 1, 2022 at 12:48 #1580874Ah thanks FF, wasn’t aware of the clear weather over in Ireland.
And Ham if Vauban does end up improving as much as Pied Piper seemed to then I’ll be very happy indeed, but I wouldn’t want to bet on it lol.
February 1, 2022 at 13:13 #1580877Elliott never mentioned a ground worry for fil dor did he? even though his forms on it, he won fine on good at fairyhouse, its the DRF, he will 100% be running unless injured, regardless, absolutely no chance he comes out because the ground
And i wouldnt be betting evs on it ben thats for sure
February 1, 2022 at 13:33 #1580884Davy Russell said at Xmas that Fil Dor loves soft ground but can handle a bit better. From that, to me, says he prefers cut in the ground. They have been putting a lot of water on the track so he may well run.
February 1, 2022 at 18:56 #1580940Makes no difference what davy sais, this is one of the top 3 races/fesitvals of the season for him, hes running regardless if hes fit, its the DRF, if this was cheltenham it wouldnt even be a question, he’d just run, as he will here.
February 1, 2022 at 21:01 #1580954I’ve said he may well run ham. lol
February 1, 2022 at 21:57 #1580959“A bit of softer ground would suit him better, but it was a nice performance and he did it well. Lunar Power brought him a little left so he needed the good jump at the last.
“We will look at Leopardstown over Christmas but ground will be a thing, so we will put him in at Chepstow (Finale Hurdle) as well.”
Fwiw that’s what Gordon said after his second run
So far from certain to run unless the taps are turned on, which it sounds like they are doing so hopefully both run
February 1, 2022 at 22:41 #1580963It’s usually just the chase track that has an issue as the hurdles track is normally fine since it’s watered all summer for the flat.
If he needs true soft ground he could be struggling come the Friday of Cheltenham. Normally good ground by then.
February 2, 2022 at 05:03 #1580986Fil Dor sharing favouritism now for the weekend.
February 5, 2022 at 13:42 #1581491Get in Vauban! The Vauban Pied Piper matchup looks on now in March. Cashed out Icare.
February 5, 2022 at 15:49 #1581526Fil dor not out of it at all, especially if the ground is soft
He looks like a stayer
Though you’d expect vauban to improve again and be tough to beat
February 5, 2022 at 16:24 #1581535Get in there Mike!! Looked quality there. Bit gutted I’m on win only but the ew double with ADV is looking very saucy!! £15 ew at 20/1 and 14/1 lol
February 5, 2022 at 16:35 #1581539Ben it’s looking good at the minute.
February 5, 2022 at 16:39 #1581540we shan’t speak too soon mate!
