Interesting race at Fairyhouse this afternoon. I have put a little on Burning Victory` at 40s ew nrnb in case she does well today. Jockey bookings and betting suggest not, stable website says she won’t like the ground today and it is unlike the trainer to turn a juvenile out for Cheltenham after only one run anyway. But she had a decent rating on the flat and if she happened to win today they could be tempted.

Nice one Grass, 40’s a smashing looking price now.

Don’t think she’ll go here Bobby, she didn’t hurdle well at all and think she could get eaten in the Triumph. Trainer didn’t sound keen. Glad I have NRNB. Some engine to win despite having to get on past when she had jumped badly;look out for her on the Flat! and in the less competitive hurdles back home.

Hook Up caught my eye coming from backmarker at the 3rd last round the outside to lead at the 2nd last. She hurdled better than the winner and is a bigger more NH looking mare…just tapped for toe and perhaps paid for her quick move. Ricci might like a runner here so I’ve backed her at 40s NRNB now too.

Should probably have watched it first lol, been in and out all day.

    The beauty of NRNB though.

Solo couldn’t have been more impressive today. A really fine looking horse but that was a beautifully dominant controlled performance

    Was straight on at 4s

Solo was undoubtedly impressive today and is clearly held in high regard at Ditcheat. However, he appears to like leading… and so do Allmankind, Aspire Tower and Goshen, his main market rivals for the Triumph.

If they end up taking on each other from flagfall, it could set the race up for a real shock, like in the good old days of Baron Blakeney, Ikdam and the like.

Solo doesn’t have to lead, trainer said he will just follow the pace. He did what he had to do today as he was rated far superior on his French form, but the clockwatchers noted the time was nothing to write home about although there was more left in the tank. I’ve got the 2 of the other main hopes at big prices so am staying loyal to them, but Solo is certainly in the mix.

Can someone explain to me how in God’s name Solo is rated 157 after 1 run?

    And Aspire Tower rated 152.

To put it in context, none of the horses who ran in the supreme were rated higher than 155 prior to the race.

Why do handicappers continue to get carried away with ratings of juvenile hurdlers?

The rating seems generous. Fascinating race though. Hard to work out what the principles have achieved in slaming opposition

The word coming out of the preview circuit was that Gary Moore thinks Goshen is the most talented horses he’s ever had by some distance. Now admittedly he doesn’t train many top level horses but he’s not usually one to get hysterical about them either.

It’s a tricky race because there’s 2 or 3 in the field that have been trotting up at mediocre tracks and one stand out bit of form that the handicapper (IMO) has over reacted to. Has anyone compared the times for the races of the likes of allmankind, solo and goshen?

I think Solo will carry huge wads of late cash and will go off alot shorter

Paddy Power are paying 4 places and also doing the win part back as free bet if your horse finishes 2nd-4th again so added Sir Psycho at 16s and had a bit more on Hook Up. Trainer preview says she might not like the ground but it is drying up, plus if she doesn’t like heavy that casts her last run in an even better light.

It’s a perfect day here at Cheltenham. Gone for Aspire Tower in the 1st. I’ve already bet him but had another bite here at 13/2.

Aspire Tower looks a good each way play. Fell last time out, but likely would have won otherwise.

    Goshen for the accas.

2nd and 3rd at decent odds. Lucky but I’ll take it. Bad luck Goshen supporters.
