The more you look through the form everything points to Royal Irish Hussar. Ignore the run at Donny lto; was having his third run inside six weeks and never travelled.
If I knew there was a reason for that performance I’d definitely agree with you. Beat Guitar Pete well in Cheltenham. Adriana Des Mottes is also interesting.
February 11, 2014 at 13:49 #467792Interesting to see the money coming for Adriana Des Mottes. Did suspect it was only a matter of time after Ivan Grozny bombed. Looks to have a relatively straightforward task at Clonmel this week although I would be pretty hopeful she would be better on a faster surface. 25/1 currently only available with William Hill.
She would have had a relatively straightforward task but Willie has cleverly decided to win the race with a horse that has zero Cheltenham aspirations instead.

Even if you ignore Doncaster Fox Norton still holds him on their run at Market Rasen.
February 18, 2014 at 19:32 #468439I am bias because I am a big Denis o Regan fan but does anyone else fancy Broughton?
I have been very impressed in both runs to date in the way he has jumped and travelled.
Would be great if he could break the duck of John Ferguson at Cheltenham as well.
Thoughts?

February 22, 2014 at 19:18 #468854Hadn’t had a bet, but I respect Fehily’s judgement a lot and he was reportedly very keen on Activial’s Triumph chances this morning, so I backed him at 25s and again right afterwards at 12s. Noel then gets off the horse and apparently says ‘he’s not necessarily a Triumph type’!
You can imagine my language…he looked to me to have all the attributes – travels, jumps and stays, with some speed too. But Noel must think him a cert for Aintree.

We don’t agree that often but unfortunately we did on this one.
In my opinion it was the most impressive performance (there haven’t been that many) by a juvenile this season. I see absolutely no reason why he shouldn’t be a big player in an ordinary year. His biggest plus is his jumping and that is surely going to be more of an asset round Cheltenham than Aintree. A few years ago he would have been a cert for the Triumph but these days it appears everyone wants a piece of the Mullins confusion.
March 11, 2014 at 12:51 #470819This race is cutting up with Le Rocher and Activial, two more likely winners out. Calipto is a solid favourite but I genuinely think Broughton with his flat breeding might be ready to take this, less competitive affair. at 9-1 with these defections I would recommend a point of anyones money. I have him down as a 5-1 shot so I’m piling in.
March 11, 2014 at 12:51 #470821Furthermore, watching the Musselburgh replay his jumping was speedy and nimble. Something i love in a juvenile hurdler.
