The only time I visited Chelmsford City was when it was still called Great Leighs. It was a terrible track, with the worst viewing I have ever known.
By the sounds of it, the place hasn’t improved much.

Poster. GingertipsterDecember 16, 2025 at 00:17 #1747676Yes Landafar come to Newmarket for the Guineas on the Rowley Mile. The 1000 Guineas on the Sunday is much quieter and the best time and place to get a great photo of the winner is by the cooling down paddock after the race next to the pre parade also a good place to watch them all going into the parade ring before the race avoiding the crowds.

Cork you are spot on .. Chelmsford City (ex Gt.Leighs) track is dreadful completely dominated by The Tote (of course) there was only a choice of 4 Bookmakers last time I went.
never again.
IMO it was better when it was just a field hosting Boot Fairs on a Sunday morning.

Thread of the year – I honestly can’t think of one 🤷♂️December 17, 2025 at 16:13 #1747804Normally I find it quite easy to nominate a thread of the year, but nothing stands out this time despite the usual high quality of posting.
I’m not sure if HDLG’s comment about the Constitution Hill thread counts as a nomination, but if not I’d like to nominate the Constitution Hill thread for thread of the year.

My initial choice, however I didn’t think it’d earn a vote. Went for Via Sistina in the end, but I think it’s time to appreciate Asian Racing too.
