It had to be

Hope you competitors don’t mind an interjection from this lazy non-runner but feel I really must congratulate Gingertipster on what’s been a deeply impressive winter’s work
If anyone has doubted Ginger’s efficacy at betting and/or questioned the wisdom of backing several runners in a race I’m sure this result must have laid those doubts to rest for good
Level Stakes Gingerprofits. What d’you reckon?
Value is everything indeed: great stuff dear boy

April 6, 2013 at 23:10 #435620Ode to Ginger
*************Ginger you have shown the way
to keep those nasty bookies at bay
You’re constantly ahead of the game
making all our scores look lameGinger is it really true
that Pricewise rang you for a few..
priceless tips at Aintree races
certain you held all the AcesBut you made sure he’d be blown away
by giving him Chicago Grey!!!Well done Ginger brilliant tipping

Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...April 6, 2013 at 23:44 #435623Echo those sentiments – consistently brilliant tipping all winter from GT. In fact it was phenomenal, utterly professional stuff.
Very, very well done.
And well done to all who showed a profit – not an easy task.
April 7, 2013 at 08:07 #435637Another great competition thank you to Nathan and everyone else for organising it. An absolutely excellent display from Ginger I may even be minded to look out one of his old threads where he outlines his methods with all the maths included! I won’t let my eyes glaze over this time! But seriously, Ginger you are walking the walk.
Wyldesyde has been "im the van" in the competition for a long time which took some doing and well done to Pricewise, at one point he was behind me! His profit shows why he is the national press’ most popular tipster.
Spare a thought for jbale who would have leapfrogged Pricewise into 3rd if he had gone for sp rather than 50/1 on Tartan Snow as if 50/1 weren’t a big enough price!
Last but not least congratulations to everyone who made it to the end, a lot of people dropped out when results didn’t go their way but some of us carried on regardless. A special mention for Triptych who finished a long last but finished nonetheless. For all of us who finished in the red, there’s always next year!
April 7, 2013 at 09:18 #435654very well done Gingertipster on a superb win and thanks Nathan for the work gone in to running a great competition
April 7, 2013 at 11:06 #435676Congratulations GT on winning this great competition and well done to all other participants. Thanks to Nathan and others for keeping score. Really enjoyed the race yesterday.
April 7, 2013 at 12:40 #435684GT – Contact me, I possibly have a special prize for you for your sterling effort.
Anyone up for a Summer version of this?
April 7, 2013 at 13:01 #435691Well done gingertipster, making a profit is hard enough but three figures is something else, thanks cormack and Nathan for organising the comp, would be up for a summer version if ginger starts on -100.
April 7, 2013 at 18:59 #435732Time for my speech?

Absolutely delighted to win this!

Thanks everyone for all your kind words. Can’t help feel it was closer than the margin of victory indicates. I came on here after each of the first two races yesterday just to check nobody had the winner, Uback 22/1 and Special Tiara 28/1. Always knew someone would come up with a massive priced Grand National winner, didn’t expect it to be me.

Thanks to Drone, that’s another word learnt, "efficacy". I was more than a little unfair last time we "spoke", sorry Sir.
Value is indeed everything, though Timeform Race Passes helps tremendously in finding the value…
(along with the "table of…")
.Never had an Ode written about me before, I’ll keep that. A real work of art Triptych. You’ll never be last with me Jac.
At least you picked up on that antepost bet struck back in October… for me to win it!Noticed and commented on Wyldesyde’s performance throughout the competition, delighted he beat Tom for second. Came up with many big priced winners.
If Bruce Millington is looking in… Gizza job!
Your boy took a hell of a beating. Seriously though, considering Tom Segal probably had bets in fewer races, should not be under-estimated what an achievement +38 third is. And of course Tom is not "Ginger".
Congratulations also to everyone who made a profit, it is not easy. And as all those running in yesterdays Grand National know, just finishing a race over an extreme trip is worthy of applause.
Special thanks to Nathan for scoring the competition, and Red Rum who stepped in. I know from doing one week how long it takes and is so easy to make a mistake. Amount of work Nathan put in with this and other competitions is awsome.
Really enjoyed the competition. I’d certainly be interested in a Flat edition, as long as I am allowed to start with the other runners and not -100.
