Not wanting to cast any aspersions on what may have been a completely well mannered horse but didn’t Challenger Du Luc win at the festival before becoming a tad more temperamental? He’s the only one I can think of without using google
Challenger Du Luc may very well have shown signs of a dubious temperament, aaronizneez, but I cannot find any murder convictions beside his otherwise good name. Therefore, incorrect.

Yes
, rumour has it he killed off Mill House.

But no, the great one wouldn’t have harmed a fly – so, incorrect.

March 26, 2014 at 19:55 #473353Bula was a character but he was unquestionably, rather than arguably more talented than Nobby’s pal. I know See You Then was something of a head the ball… Was it him?

March 29, 2014 at 11:07 #473604The "killer" question has got you all stumped it would seem – so, unless someone comes up with the correct answer by 00.01 hours, Monday, 31 March, 2014, then I shall give you the answer.
I really do hope someone gets the… <aherm> killer, so to speak.
A little bit of online detective work should ( maybe ) help solve the problem. The horse in question is well known to most, if not all , racing enthusiasts.

March 29, 2014 at 22:31 #473670Sorry Moehat – still no, sorry !
Think equine psychopath rather than bad tempered or mad.

March 30, 2014 at 00:07 #473681Thought not. I’ve read plenty on Flyingbolt but never anything about being nasty to other horses
. Not Dynaformer is it?? Nope; didn’t run at Cheltenham

No, not Dynaformer either.
Flyingbolt was a a bit of a psycho who’d lash out at both human and horse, but that’s as far as it went.I am going to give you a big, BIg clue, Moehat ( and anyone else reading this ).

March 30, 2014 at 15:40 #473723You don’t mean Hurricane Fly? He looks mean
. If he was a human I wouldn’t start an arguement with him….
March 30, 2014 at 15:42 #473724Of course, Monksfield was an entire so he could have been a bit scary.
March 30, 2014 at 21:39 #473757No, Moehat, neither of them is the guilty party
We approach the deadline for the answer to be revealed.
Therefore, one last gigantic clue, as I really want someone to come up with the correct answer. So I will give it to you on a plate.

The horse has the distinction of being the shortest priced winner of the Champion Hurdle.
Come on…

March 30, 2014 at 22:40 #473758Would never have guessed that [cheated and googled it]. Only thing I did know about that horse was that he died out hunting one day.
March 30, 2014 at 23:04 #473759Time for the big reveal, although I believe moehat now knows the name of the horse.
The culprit was of course… < drum roll > … triple champion hurdle winner of the 1950s, Sir Ken.
Who’d have thunk, eh ?

March 30, 2014 at 23:17 #473761I was closest because I suggested a triple champion hurdle winner

He has that Fedor Emelianenko, cold vacant look about him doesn’t he? No wonder he held such an impressive win streak. His opponents must have been scared stiff of getting anywhere near him!
