Charles Darwin to conquer the World
December 8, 2022 at 17:51 #1626256I’ll kick off with a couple
Flat horse – Blackbeard
Thread – Blackbeard AnticsCharles Darwin to conquer the World
December 8, 2022 at 18:42 #1626263Surely no point in continuing those two categories. Blackbeard talked about by many folk with a fleeting interest in racing. What a dude as bryony likes to say.🤣🤣🤣
December 8, 2022 at 19:00 #1626265Poster of the year was such a hard choice for me personally as from my perspective competition is intense.
Last year’s winner CAS has, if anything, been even more brilliant this year.
Richard increasingly seems to me like the forum’s social conscience over in the Lounge – a fairer-minded man it would be hard to find and he’s witty with it.
Talking of wit, no one but no one puts me down more hilariously and with more perception than Gladders (Gladiateur). Making someone laugh at themselves is an art form and he is a master of his art, as well as being incredibly knowledgeable about this game.
Talking of knowledge – APRacing, yet Alan manages to be the consummate expert without ever putting anyone else down, also a courteous art in itself.
And there are numerous others who make every day at TRF a delight, including Ben, young(er than Chezza anyway!) poster of the year in my book.
And Nathan’s a comedy genius as well as clearly being a lovely bloke.
In the end, for sheer consistency, I have to nominate CAS for back-to-back wins.
Do the other categories, the mere protagonists in the sport, even matter compared to the Titans of these TRF Halls?
Oh, alright, I will do those too.

Thread of the year Constitution HillDecember 10, 2022 at 23:33 #1626504Thanks mickey I was lucky enough to be at Newmarket for Blackbeard’s last race and he didn’t disappointment with his pre race antics. Ryan Moore rode a terrific race to bring him home.
I especially took that photo for Nathan as he was after a new Avatar and I was lucky to get an uninterrupted shot as they walked out of the parade ring.
My Avatar The Antarctic was walking right next to him so I managed to get a new Avatar also and The Antarctic (brother of Baattash) is my one to watch for 2023..

Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...December 11, 2022 at 06:15 #1626512Hero of the Year: The Queen.
No matter what anyone thinks of monarchy, she performed the role in an exemplary manner and her lifelong support of racing was a huge asset to the sport, especially to Royal Ascot.
December 11, 2022 at 06:45 #1626515Can we just give chezza the thread of the year award now ….no guess for the prize , just watch though , he trying to get us all hooked , he,s well known in his area , walking around offering a half packets of bourbons or custard creams it’s starts with just try a free one ….how do you think he gets the money for Waitrose …ok i admit it I was at his door at 2am this morning ….I had the shakes , the garibaldi downs are the worst …damn you Chezza , that’s it in going cold turkey ….. Me , a tv , 6 cans of soup ….I’ll win …hang on what’s that on the ceiling ……aaaaahhhhhh …noooo
December 11, 2022 at 07:05 #1626517All the best threads are, rather than a recurring monologue from the OP (Original Poster), an ongoing, live, multi-faceted debate and it’s the variety of differing contributors that makes it “great.”
A “great” Champion Hurdler in waiting deserves a “great” thread and I like to think we are collectively in the process of doing Constitution Hill justice here at TRF.
Many thanks in turn to CAS, btw, for nominating me for Poster Of The Year.
Coming from last year’s brilliant and well-deserved winner, I regard being nominated by him as an honour in its own right.
