Does anyone know if people from within the racing industry actually browse or post on this Forum or do they have their own ‘talking-shop’? I’m only curious to know how influential/informative, if at all, they themselves find The Racing Forum.
December 11, 2008 at 13:15 #196085There are a number of owners who post on here, Ken.

December 11, 2008 at 14:03 #196098Guilty as charged Ken. If you had watched Racing UK on Monday you might just have seen me in the winners enclosure….
December 11, 2008 at 15:47 #196112I’m an owner!!
December 11, 2008 at 16:05 #196118Part owner of 2 year old filly in training with Alex Hales, Daventry.
Part owner through a racing club of 2 horses in training with Christian von der Recke, Weilerswist.
Work (when required) as Owners Representative for Christian von der Recke when his horses run in the UK. Would have been at Ludlow today had it gone ahead. Last seen at Sandown on Saturday going a bit bonkers after Fiepes Shuffle (Flipper) fell at the first.

December 11, 2008 at 16:22 #196121Thanks for your replies. Much appreciated. It certainly gives the forum a bit of Kudos, I think. But then again, I’m not so sure. It reminds me of a situation many years ago when I was invited to give a lunchtime talk to a Rotary Club. I remember my elderly Mother telling me to wear my old school tie because "they’ll be very posh people there". And my response being, "You must be joking Mum, half of them are second-hand car salesmen and the other half are made up of double glazing salesmen, bookies and investment consultants". I suppose it’s much the same in racing. But all the same, we’re all in it together – searching for that elusive eternal happiness that we delude ourselves comes from having immense wealth, a Derby winner or a foolproof system.
CheersDecember 11, 2008 at 16:29 #196122a derby winner!!! No thanks pal….i’m only intrested in real horses ie 4m chasers round Hexham in pi$$ing down rain!

Along with the other 2,000 syndicate members?
December 11, 2008 at 17:36 #196142Can claim to be a trainer (taking time out at present but hopefully to return in near future!) – actually responsible for forum associated horse, Tajjree, who won for us last year – a very happy day!
December 11, 2008 at 17:49 #196143Hope you’re back in the training ranks soon Jinny – Taj was a cracking little mare and a great buy

Not far off Ken – my full time job is at a car rental company! Tedious however is not the word, so as a release from the office boredom, I get myself involved in racing. Many’s the time I’ve been stuck in my office on a wet Wednesday thinking ‘Keep going…only 4 days until Baden-Baden’!

A man after my own heart. Never been to Hexham (despite it being not that farm from my home area), I’m a bit like that about Towcester (4miles round there would be fun wouldn’t it)
