With form sometimes being unreliable as the going alters generally from soft to good at this time of the year is it a good idea to put more faith in successful trainers? These would be my idea in some order of merit for the three Channel 4 races today:
Newbury
2.15 Kerada, Asturienne, Smuglin
2.50 Line Freedom, Whoops A Daisy, Violin Days, Kells Bell, Empress Orchid, Shop Dj.
3.25 Scots DragoonMarch 26, 2011 at 20:36 #347388Formath
, you cunning old devil you.
How many would have selected the 1.2.3 in the 2.50
Did you know (I bet you did) the Tricast paid £1,039, now wouldn’t that have been nice.

March 27, 2011 at 10:28 #347448Bill,
No cunning involved just beginner’s luck
.Most of the top trainers are having a day off today but these may be worth consideration at Wincanton:
2.55 Trooper Clarence (no value at all)
3.25 Estates Recovery or Choumakeur
4.25 Magic Marmalade, Life Of A LusoMarch 27, 2011 at 12:01 #347462Now,
Formath
, you cunning old devil, you are not going to drag me into this scenario I have plenty on my plate at present as you well know.
However, most of the top jockeys at a given track, such as Wincanton are the main stable jockey to the more successful trainer, in paticular Hobbs/Johnson such as: –
Estates Recovery and Magic Marmalade which you have selected.
I was going to ask your opinion about the jockey picking up extra or spare rides at the course being good/better or worse value than those where he is the stable jockey.
I am unable to high-light this with Richard Johnson today as it looks to be the case that they are his only two rides but your thoughts are always of interest.
Will you be Dutching the 3.25 & 4.25 pairings?

Looking at the Racing Post trainer stats for Kelo today I wonder which you would consider the trainer to follow: –
N Richards top of the chart 29/170 17%
3 runners: –
2.30 BENMADIGAN
4.00 REALT MOR
6.00 GLINGERMILLT Walford 2/8 25%
2 runners: –
4.00 TAMANACO
6.00 FRENCH SEVENTYFIVERD Coupland 2/3 67%
1 runner
4.30 STARK RAVENQuakity or quantity, this is the dilemma, I think I would err towards Richards but your opinion is always valued.

April 4, 2011 at 19:00 #348647Bill,
I was picking courses with good to firm going for trainers in case the changing ground conditions had upset the form. I didn’t see your post until after time as I stopped doing this thread so my comments are not really relevant
. However, the way I select trainers it would have been McCain and Richards. McCain’s runner Chamirey ran a stinker
