I note that the deduction from the Tote Win Pool are being increased from 13.5% and 16.5% on October 22nd.
Totepool managing director Phil Siers said: "These rate changes will enable Totepool to establish a further bridgehead in international pool co-mingling, offering the UK punter better and bigger pools. This is an exciting development for Totepool and its racecourse partners, and we look forward to greater pool success going forward."
Quite why raising the pool deductions brings him to that conclusion I haven’t a clue. We’ll take more money off you then the pooks will grow? The bulls**t meter just hit the end of the scale!
On the up side the Trifecta and Exacta deductions have been reduced from 26% to 25%. Whoopee doo!

Value Is EverythingOctober 18, 2012 at 14:18 #417193The Nannys new slogan could be:-
All our profits stay in Fred Dones wallet!
October 18, 2012 at 15:35 #417201Unfortunately the Tote is now a private entity but this refining of deductions was inevitable when Betfred took over. The funds should be directly allocated to prize money (which would aid trainers, jockeys, stable staff etc) or to racing welfare.
That statement quoted above is just mumbo-jumbo for we are keeping more of the pot to ourselves and there’s nowt you can do about it.
