Immoral and corrupt was all that was on offer last time I looked.
What do you mean by changed sides Marble .. the only side I am on is my own, isn’t everybody?
October 15, 2009 at 13:09 #253451It may not take off, but nevertheless, there is a worldwide commingling movement bubbling under the surface right now. The Nanny could end up being worth a whole bundle more than it is now.
October 15, 2009 at 21:55 #253507the 7-year exclusive licence certainly could be worth something.
less so the existing management, which seems to show disapointingly little initiative. by accident or design, that must be price-depressing.
here’s what HKJC is doing for its simulcast of just one race, the Champions Stakes, this Saturday:
http://special.hkjc.com/promo/en/2009_s … asp?sid=s2
and there aren’t even any HK runners in that race.
what’s the Nanny doing for the Canadian International on Saturday, which has several UK runners ?
what did it do for the Arc ?
what’s it going to do for the BC ?
October 15, 2009 at 22:37 #253512I’ve often wondered what’s in it for other country’s co-mingling with our rancid tote.
Foreign money, particularly French money, seems to make up the lion’s share of our group one pools. I doubt you’d be able to buy a round of drinks with the money going in the opposite direction.
If they can get proper co-mingling with the Far East/North America (24/7 racing across the globe anyone?) then having an official monopoly is neither here or there from that point. They will have a monopoly on pool betting just as Betfair do on exchange betting.
October 20, 2009 at 15:43 #254430Interesting interview with Andy Stewart on Get On today. He confirmed Cenkos Securities are still interested in acquiring the Tote but only if the T&C’s of the sale ensure a maximum benefit for racing.
Would be a welcome development imo.
October 29, 2009 at 13:18 #255967There is going be an item on Radio 4 tomorrow on the "You and Yours" programme with regards to the sale of "The Tote".
