Nah, my greek matey would let me borrow it on saturday mornings after he had done his studying on friday evenings!!!
Soviet Song was not a colt!!! She was a year older, and a year stronger. Had attraction been 4 and soviet song 5, i think attraction would have won.

Jackane, Soviet Song beat Attraction fair and square twice on fast ground (Attractions preferred surface), giving her weight for age (9lbs I think).
How could Attraction possibly reverse the form as a 4yo when she would be 9lbs worse off?
No chance.

February 17, 2006 at 22:14 #95565If you go on to the RP website you can watch the 1983 Gold Cup. Great to see those old horses again, especially Silver Buck and Wayward Lad. I’d forgotten just how close that race looked like it was going to be with four of them coming over the last virtually together. Also great to hear Sir P.O’Sullevan calling it.
February 17, 2006 at 23:19 #95566Yes watching all these old races from the seventies and eighties, I didn’t realise Andrew Thornton had won 12 Gold Cups and 14 Grand Nationals. The races I watched he seemed to be riding everyone of them.
February 18, 2006 at 13:56 #95567Yep GH – I had forgotten that Bregawn was in front all the way and it was a grand performance. Great to see that race. Perhaps the RP website could consider showing a topical archive ‘race of the week’ each week. It’d certainly generate a little traffic and some interest.
