If you believe that a horse will drift (or move in), you can trade its odds and make a profit without having to bet on it. Obviouly, if you are wrong in your prediction, you can lose money. Have a look at http://www.oddsfutures.com/lnd.of?id=theracingforum , where you can trade odds based on your prediction of price movements.

On Oddsfutures, it does not actually matters who win or who loses a race. You just predict the directions of the odds prior to the off. For example, Kellys eye is piced at the time of writing at 15.5 (Buy) and 18 (Sell). If you think that the Oddsfutures Settlement price (oSP) will be lower than 15.5, you can buy this horse. If you think it be higher than 18, you can sell. The further the odds move in your direction, the higher the profit (or loss if your prediction was wrong). You can also post your own odds if you want to. Odds will move depending on the betting activity at the racecourse.

Yep.. that’s the neat bit about oddsfutures…you never stand to lose more than your 1/2 x stake for a BUY trade/or 1x stake for a SELL trade (whereas on BetF a lay of price is a crazy stake x odds price)..so you get more leverage on oddsfutures (with less exposure)

I you’d had a £100 Buy trade on FLYING APPLAUSE on Oddsfutures.com you would have made a £200 (£100 profit plus your £100 stake back). Just for anticipating the backing in on the market…You could have effectively insured your bet by the profit you made on oddsfutures.com. So you’d have been able to watch the race without any worry about the outcome whatsoever as you’d be up before the off.
So If you know there’ll be money for a favorite you can effectively insure your bets by staking a side BUY on oddsfutures.
