Morning Ian, I’ve just logged on & thought "What the hell? ID posting in Systems Workshop? What’s a level headed chap like HIM doing over here (in ward 7 as Mr E calls it!). I just had to read your offering – I know it’s well meant Ian but you’ve missed the buzz of the Systems Workshop:biggrin:

I think the vast majority (including myself) agree with your first two lines – as for the rest? Well for most of us a tissue price is £1.29 for a box of Kleenex, & the buzz I spoke of? The buzz is the hunt for (occasionally successful – but mostly not) a system that will negate the need for knowledge of how to compile tissue prices!

Not only tissue prices in fairness, but also negate the need for knowledge of ANY SORT, what we want is for someone to come along and to tell us that if we back the 2nd favs in h’caps up to 11 runners, at a price of no less than 3/1, that we will show a profit. If it can be backed up by  being told that the forumite was bequeathed it from an eccentric millionaire so much the better! If by chance it comes along with a ”Ye Olde Staking Plan’ from a racing Almanack that predates the first world war then we are in seventh heaven

Seriously mate the whole idea of the SW is to find something simple that means everyone can have a go not just the the people that are capable of compiling tissue prices. But Hey! its great to see you over here Ian you should come more often! As I am on record as saying somewhere – this is my favourite relaxing forum on TRF – bar none.

So come on mate enter into the spirit of it & tell us that first little gem you were given when you sat on your grandpappy’s knee!

Ian, welcome to Norfolks Sanitorium for the Insane, we’re stark staring bonkers down here in the basement and you would be too if you had to suffer Matrons wet towels and electrodes…. and he aint too fussy where he sticks those probes. The Snowball has it absolutely cock on in his assessment on us lot in the Workshop, I couldn’t have explained it better myself. There are many ways to "get it off" in this wonderful hobby of horseracing and as a confirmed systemite I retain the right to use these methods to further my enjoyment. I don’t believe in paying for tips and have little faith in the media as a successful medium for making money, but I don’t mind spending the odd bob or two having fun with a system. I am 60 years old and have been betting for 40 of ’em, the last 10 with reasonable success. Although I can’t pull back the other 30 years losses, I can still have a great deal of fun and enjoyment from searching and following a system. Its silly I know, but I spend hours searching and following systems and it doesn’t cost me a single penny cos the entertainment is in the effort of trying and checking. Look at my system, its absolute crap, I know this and so do the rest of the Ward, but imagine the bloody euphoria if one of my next bets actually wins @7’s with 5pts on it, a 35pt profit and we’ll pee ourselves, and the funny thing is, nobody would have stuck a brass farthing on it. The fun is in looking for the rainbow, but we’re not that daft that we think we’ll find it…… don’t take our rattles off us, go and play with your own toys…. better still, come down here with us and get yourself certified…….<br>

Hey Ian. Isn’t that Fineform by another scoring system?

Anyway now you’re getting the idea.  Loosen your tie a little & dream something elaborate – someone on here will run it and you never know – you might be our next Guru ’til something better comes along!
