A fairly remarkable win for Winx in the Cox Plate down under sees her elevated to joint best in the world status alongside Alamzor.
Very Impressive but you do have to question what she has beat!!
Hartnell won a Queens Vase and Group three over here and some group races over there but would love to see Winx run at Royal Ascot to maybe see how good she is.
As good as Almanzor mmmmmmm not for me!!
I’d give Winx the edge over Almanzor, although he’s an clearly an outstanding performer as well. If nothing else, she’s so far won a lot more Group 1s than he has!
I’m not clear why Winx needs to come over here for people to “see how good she is”. You could equally well argue that Almanzor ought to go to race in Australia to show how good he is. After all, there are plenty of valuable races down under in the 1600 to 2000 metre range for him to run in.
I don’t really know anything about Aussie racing. Is it generally considered inferior to Euro stuff?
