BTW, I suggest you’re cutting your nose to spite your face by religiously ignoring Summer Jumping and AW, using what is essentially an arbitrary date to walk away. The AW winter season features many horses with summer turf form to ponder and extrapolate, and from a generally happy personal experience May provides both plenty of NH action and some excellent betting opportunities on lush spring going

Agreed without reservation, though I think Ginger and I have long since settled on a high-scoring draw where the above is concerned. 8)

I know one of the spotlight team (Stuart) on the Racing Post Joe. They have some writers on the books (Frank Carter does most of the two year old stuff) and some freelance (like Stuart) for the busy days. All headed up by Emily Webber (if I’ve got her name right).

It’s "Weber" with one "b", Ginge – German surname, and pronounced as such – but yep, the Queen of the Sprint Handicap is also the queen of the timetabling and managing of the troops overall.

I don’t think Raceform have anything to do with Racing Post Spotlights,

As of this time last year, they do. There are four Raceform full-timers who have also been doing Spotlighting as well for that long.

Admittedly the distinction probably isn’t that clear from the outside looking in, as there is no way of telling which of the other people who also do both Spotlighting and post-analysis are freelance rather than permanent employees of either the

or Raceform. Not without me telling you I am, anyway. 8)

There was I thinking it was a Racing Post spelling mistake.
    Apologies Ms Weber.

Thanks for putting me right about Raceform Jeremy. Sorry for the misinformation.

Regarding the RP team of analysts, have to say I’m disappointing that the Post chose to publish a picture of Ron Wood for his Pricewise on the Breeders Cup section. Forever shattered now is the image of a Rolling Stone with groupie on one arm and formbook in the other ploughing through a 0-55 at Wolverhampton.

They were going to show Mick as well but they realised how hard it is to give away two stones. ;)
